I had Cataract Surgery yesterday on my left eye and apart from looking as if I have gone 10 rounds in a boxing ring (I have a black eye) everything is good.  The surgery was better than what I thought it was going to be, my imagination went wild.   Now to get the right one done in the near future.

Great news Marg, glad to hear all went well. You'll feel like a new woman, but don't be rushing into things. Just keep an eye on it.

Glad your doing well. My wife just had hers done before Christmas. She has done well and can see great. The did one eye on Monday and second eye on Tuesday with follow up on Friday and got a rose each visit besides. It is a group of doctors and this is what they do. Even provides transportation if needed. Went well got a rose and is happy. she has a stigmatism  which they would have corrected but she refused because she has wore glasses since 6 years old and thought she would look too funny without them. So i guess I will still be buying glasses to correct the stigmatism.

Had both eyes done in December of 2016, and am very happy with the results.  For the first time in 60 years, I can see at a distance with out glasses, and only need cheaters to read and do close work.  I get the cheaters for $1.00 each at Dollar Tree.  Did  I say I am cheap?

Good going Marg...I can just imagine going to have that done.

I hate having anything around my eyes.

But they say it improves eyesight greatly.

I am the biggest chicken when it comes to eyes Gordie but I was out for the count before I even saw the doctor.  Boy was that a relief.  I now have almost 20/20 vision back in the left eye and it's as if some switched one the light.  So love my new sight.

So can you see like you did thirty years ago now! Glad it went well for you Marg!

Probably as good as when I was 5 Dan.  I have been wearing glasses since I was 9.

I have been wearing glasses since I was nine and I have been thinking about getting some bi focals again with clear glass and reading in the bottom because I don't think I can go without glasses now.  I will ask the Optometrist what she thinks.

Might as well get them both done at the same time and look like a raccoon than a one eyed owl.lol

So glad you had one done without issue Marg.  Boo on having to wait almost a month to get the other one done.  My mother had hers done several years ago - she too had worn glasses for years.  She choose to have it all done so she didn't have to do glasses anymore.  She was so happy and said she loved opening her eyes and being able to see and not having to reach for those glasses anymore.  I'm too young for cataracts just yet - but I am so tired of the contacts and glasses that I mentioned to my Doctor having the lens implants done anyway!  More and more people are opting to do that.  With the prices of glasses and contacts, it doesn't take too long to have it paid for by avoiding those costs!  For now, we adjusted my contacts but I still haven't ruled it out.  Hope yours goes well next round to Marg.

Marg Varifocals are great just bought a new pair myself extra thin lenses. Take about a day to get use to. Roly

I have had two pairs at different times and I have ended up back at the Optometrist because they give me violent headaches.  The longest I lasted was a week, just can't handle them.  I will stick to my bi focals thanks.
