Hello group friends.
As you may have noticed, I have withdrawn a bit from the forum.
I apologize to each of you, since I have always had your support and friendship.
Sometimes I get a kick out, since I do not think I'm that bad at what I do.
But I have attended fairs, craft events, Blogs, Fanpage stores and my product did not manage to sell it.
I have invested a lot of time, effort and effort and I do not see it reflected in sales.
Almost everything I do is stored in boxes or I end up giving it away.
I feel sad, since my prices are not high, many times they are below all, waiting only for the recovery of the material, but not even so they are sold.
In Mexico, handicrafts are not much appreciated.
However I still do not give up, since it is a job that I am passionate about.
I hope I apologize and understand my situation.
I have always seen and will continue to see the beautiful patterns that share (I have many) as well as the incredible works that you all do, as long as this forum exists and has life, I will never leave the group.
I send you a big hug from Puebla, Mexico.

Frank the buying customer is a fickle one my friend, one never knows what will and will not sell.  It is hard to find a market for things we make sometimes.  Try selling online on sites like ETSY.COM.  Easy to set up and run and I can tell you from experience that things sell around the world.  You do great work and should not be discouraged.  We are here for you should you need the support my friend.

I don't sell anything I make, so I do not really feel your pain, but it was sad to read your thoughts.  My pieces are given to family members & friends, but most go to Church Minister groups that counsel the grieving, people with health, domestic, financial, etc. problems.  My hope is for the reward on the other side of the Pearly Gates.

thank you for your personal sharing today. I understand with 3 big totes in the garage full of finished things. I do only 2 or 3 shows and sell a little. Prices are low but do not seem to go. I do get some to replace material and I am fortunate to get wood from others or dumpsters for free. As you say I have a passion for the work in making things. I have seen some of your work and you are very good at what you do.

Frank - just wanted to say I understand feeling blue and withdrawing from time to time.  I think we all do that.  I am sorry that you have trouble with selling your work.  I have seen some of it here on the forum and you do a great job from what I recall seeing.  As you say, you cannot ever tell.  I have not tried to sell anything, I mostly cut and give away.  I am fortunate that we can afford for me to do that but would love to think that one day I was good enough that someone would want to pay me!;) Keep on doing what you love and visiting us here in the forum.

Hi Frank.

We have missed you but like all families they just pop in when they can so don't apologise we understand.

I put a sign up on my table offers considered. Then I drop it by a pound or two to get rid and you should see their happy faces when they think they have robbed me blind.

You look after yourself my friend God Bless. Roly

Frank, we all go through those times.  Here at ArtCrafters, we have local art and craft displayed.  It seems that people would rather go to the big box stores and get something made in China.  I now tell people to buy from someone who puts their heart and soul into what they make.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner Frank. I don't believe you owe anyone an apology as I'm sure all of us that have tried to sell our items have been there. Hang in there and all I can say is if you enjoy making things, don't stop.

I know full well that if I charged for a decent hourly wage for my work I would never sell a thing. Once in a great while I get a commissioned job that pays well, but that is very rare. The rest of the time I recoup the cost of materials and maybe a little more. But this year we had to give up the craft fairs. The wife and I are having health issues and the physical effort of set up and tear down have gotten too much for us. We have a shop on Etsy, and a business Facebook page we really need to get updated.

Been away for a while, so first day back.  Frank I like others feel for the way you explain the sells etc.

Like you there here where I set up my ONLY Show in Nov. I did not do as well as previous years.

This year I shall hope for better sells.                                Friends Always..................Danny  :+}

Frank, as you can see you are not the only one this has happened to. Me included. In fact I almost had to check and make sure I didn't write it! People are weird. They will go and buy junk for 2x the price that one of us could make it and sell it for. The last craft show I did I made more money from my relatives that came by than anyone else! I made some really cute toy cars (about 200 of them) and tried to sell them for $2 each and I couldn't believe that people wouldn't buy them. I still have half of them. I barely made enough money to cover my booth costs for the 2 day event. But you can't let that get you down, keep having fun, that's what it's all about.
