That one with the bear in the doorway makes me laugh and remember

back when my daughter was 16, I had returned from the range at the rod and gun club and had sat down to clean the weapon.  Finishing I had reassembled the weapon and was jacking the slide as there was a knock on the door.  Without thinking I opened the door to some teenager with the pistol in my hand.  he got this funny look and turned and left.

later my daughter came out and said well looks like I have been stood up, Billy was supposed to come by and take me bowling.

I was quiet.

Monday she comes home from school mad as hell, it is all over the school that her dad meets you are the door with a gun in hand.

She could not see my logic that if he would not stand firm for what he wanted, what good was he?

@JimErnI have offered many times to friends with young daughters to come over on prom night and have a weapon cleaning/knife sharpening party on the front porch. None have taken me up on the offer, but seemed to appreciate the idea.
