rash_powder Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 So my upper clamp has been slipping A LOT lately and I did some searching on this. A Steve Good video popped up stating that Seyco/delta/DEWALT style clamps could be refurbished with a seyco kit. I took my quick clamp apart and found it is a set screw with a T pad just like Steve said and showed the others had. since I had it apart, I cleaned everything with mineral spirits except for the T insert as it has a wee bit of plastic on it. I tried to file some texture onto the T and the set screw but they are hardened so that didn’t work. does anyone know if that Seyco refurbish kit will fit my Hegner quick clamp? thanks!! GrampaJim Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 You could just replace it for $35. https://www.advmachinery.com/collections/types/products/hegner-quickclamp Dave Monk and OCtoolguy 1 1 Quote
Sycamore67 Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 Interesting, I have had the quick clamp for quite a few years and never a problem with slippage. I do not clean or sand the ends of my blades. Dave Monk, Jim Finn and OCtoolguy 2 1 Quote
Rockytime Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 I just soaked mine in alcohol for just a few seconds, put a drop of light oil behind the touch pad being careful to wipe it off the face of the touch. Really not much to go wrong. I don't clean or and my blades either. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
