ChelCass Posted April 11, 2020 Report Posted April 11, 2020 We have a ton of Amish here in Central Michigan, even have some families in the U.P. When I lived in Tenn. we were surrounded by Amish farms. Very nice people. Most farms have a sawmill and you can buy slab wood cheap for your wood stove if you have one. Lumber to build a shed or what have you and of course wood for scrolling. They don't have exotic wood but you may be able to get some nice pine, maple or whatever is growing in your area. Their vegetable are the best and reasonable price. The only thing I dislike is a lot of them are backyard breeders. smitty0312 and Sycamore67 1 1 Quote

I’ve heard about the backyard thing......I’m not judging these families till I see them. ChelCass 1 Quote
Sycamore67 Posted April 12, 2020 Report Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) IMHO.....There is a comment in a previous post that is not clear. If you are referring to back yard breeding of dogs, then I understand. However, the term has been used with other meanings also.
