Gordster Posted April 20, 2020 Report Posted April 20, 2020 Everyone here is broken hearted...A gunman went on a killing spree, killing 18 people. One was an RCMP police woman. It all began in a small community. The shooter was a denturist, who did disguise himself as a police officer and drive a car painted up to look exactly as a police cruiser. He started before midnight saturday, with people in his area and then until about noon next morning killing I guess people he had planned to kill and then apparently at random. He also lit about 5 fires including two police crusiers.Probably the ones belonging to the officer who was killed and one officer he shot who is still alive in hospital. Finally after about 100 miles or so he was caught at a truck stop, where a wars team exchanged gun fire and he was killed.Thank God..Still learning about this, but he shot the officer,a nurse ,a school teacher plus a mom and add and daughter. I live about a three hour drive from where this happened and I was at that truck stop numerous times.Thank heaven's it was closed that morning because of the covid,as this place is always full at breakfast time.Sad thing is these people that died cannot have a funeral at this time and most likely cannot be with other family members and friends..... meflick Posted April 20, 2020 Report Posted April 20, 2020 Goodie, I am so heart broken to hear of this senseless act and the loss of so many lives. You are right, it is even made worse by the pandemic issues and the inability to properly mourn and celebrate their lives for their families. Gordster 1 Quote
dgman Posted April 20, 2020 Report Posted April 20, 2020 Unfortunately, it is not uncommon here in the U.S. So sorry that it has happened in your corner of the world Gordie. Gordster 1 Quote
scrollerpete Posted April 20, 2020 Report Posted April 20, 2020 There will be always some nuts case in this world. This had to be planned, painted the car to look like a police cruiser also he had on a police uniform, it is a tragedy for sure. The only satisfaction if there is such thing in this matter is with the Canadian law we will not have to pay for his defence or jail time, good on the RCMP to put and end to his miserable life.
