Pyro Coffee Table with Resin

I needed a big project so I decided to make a coffee table. My living room isn't that big but, the project was big enough to be awkward to draw on and burn. It came out to be 36"x22". Done on birch. I torched the edges and finished it with epoxy resin. I got the hairpin legs from Home Depot. Everyone stay in the woodshop and stay safe!

Bought the same one a week ago and will need a whole lot of practice using it. Any sites on the internet you recommend?

You'll love it when you get use to it. As for sites, maybe try YouTube. I took some scrap wood and just started playing with the different tips and temps. It won't take you long. Happy burning!!

Awesome!  I got a cheap woodburner for Christmas, haven't really pulled it out (too many scrollsaw patterns waiting for me!), but I was wondering how you got patterns from paper to wood?

Thank you! When I burn mandalas, I draw them directly on the wood in pencil. After burning I just erase the pencil marks. When I want to copy something onto the wood, I use carbon paper. Harder to erase but, it works.

I see you are from CA. I was born and raised there. Grew up in Hayward and lived in Livermore for a while. Moved out in 96. I probably wouldn’t recognize it out there any more.

I'm in the central valley now. I was born in Fremont. It's a crazy place out here for sure. When my husband retires we hope to leave it behind. Hopefully going north maybe Oregon or Washington.
