Victoria 25 days Covid Free

Victoria is now 25 days Covid 19 free and no active cases.  That is some achievement.  There are only 95 cases in the rest of Australia.  Lets hope it goes down and stays there.

That's wonderful.  We are still the worst numbers per captia here in Winnipeg.  One small town near by has a test positivity rate of 40%.  It is so disappointing because we were zero for a couple of weeks in the summer.

There were a lot of 'You can't force me to wear a mask', or, ' I will go out of the 5km or 25km radius if I want to' and just plain stupid people but all in all the majority did the right thing and that's what got us over the line.

Good on the Vics Marg. So glad your Premier made the hard call and did the a severe lock-down.

We have truly been lucky here in the West, life has just gone on as per nearly normal, with no cases for months. The exception being some in quarantine from OS and Interstate.

Very little mask wearing here in Florida - we haven't been locked down in months. Having some of our best business in years thanks to so many other states being locked down.

N.Y and Ca. residents are vacating those states em masse! In just 4 months we've placed over 20 families in new homes! We've still got 1.2 months to go!

Here, there are some that wear masks but most do not. I notice those that do are much older but even then not many. I see more families with small children wearing them than any other demographic.

I personally do not wear a mask, preferring to live my life without Gov, interference.  After all, even the so called experts said there is no way to stop this and masks do not work as intended then again they said do work, oh wait no they said they don't work. On and on infinitum.

I'll wear a bandana in the few stores I go to that require it, but even many of those have stopped requiring them.

Obviously, the so called experts don't know what they're talking about LOL

But, to each his/her own - what ever makes one feel secure and works for them

Having lost 3 good friends to this virus and having friends and family that work in the health service who are both physically and mentally exhausted  that continually say ' Please, don't take this virus lightly, it kills people including we that are trying to save lives.' 

 I would love to see an advert somewhere in very large letters that say '' If you don't believe that this virus is life threatening and the powers that be are not to be believed then  PLEASE  VOLUNTEER   at your local  hospital, they desperately need your help as they are struggling to cope with the amount of people that need treatment. !!

Here in Alabama, USA there are so many conspiracy theorists it is sad. I've quit commenting on Facebook because it is truly an exercise in futility trying to change somebody's mind. It's sad to think that many may have died unnecessarily because somebody valued their "freedom" over their fellowman.  Happy Thanksgiving anyway.

Our hospitals are empty. In fact, I got an email the other day from the county telling people to "feel free" to go if they feel the need as there is plenty of room.

I do take it seriously but do not let it consume my every minute of every day.

We had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, everyone but 1 was over 60 no one wore a mask, no one had an issue with not wearing. 2 of our guests are high risk with serious secondary illnesses.

We seem to be doing just fine here.

Are there cases? Sure.

With a greater than 90% curable rate and now a vaccine, we really don't see the issue.

Our problem is no matter how someone passes, it is flagged as a covid death - this is terrible logistics and should have been stopped in the beginning

Example: We had a terrible car accident the other day - 2 young kids were fatally injured. Both were counted as covid deaths. This happens with extreme regularity all over the country and should be stopped

Anyway, best to all however you choose to manage this issue

I live in a rural area and everyone was saying the hospitals are empty and the virus isn't real.. You should be thankful they are empty... some of those empty hospital staff have been furloughed.. and went to work where they was needed.. right now there are some hospitals willing to pay a nurse over $100hr to work the covid floor.. because they desperately need the help.. Not every location has a serious outbreak.. but don't take it serious and that might change quite fast.. or it may not.. if not.. be thankful its not..   Nobody really took it too seriously out here because there was no cases.. Now the rural hospitals are full and have been sending them to the bigger hospitals which are now also full.. or 90% full.. Much of my family and friends works healthcare.. 

I seen this meme back in the beginning of this and had to save it.. Speaks volumes about our rights I think.. but the sad thing is with this virus is.. those bees are going to get into that fellas pockets so he can take some home to his friends and family so they can get stung too. hopefully none of them are deathly allergic.. 

As for them marking kids in an accident as a covid death.. That is possible because they are supposed to mark it as a covid IF they have been tested positive.. but there is a difference between marking the death as a "covid cause of death" and a "trauma death" with covid.. Any death that has covid has to be marked covid.. but may not be the cause of death.. big difference.. could there be some fraudulent activity with the hospitals marking deaths as covid when that isn't the case.. Maybe but down the road that could mean some big trouble for someone.. as the doctors have to sign off that certificate.. as I said.. most of my family works healthcare.. If you have Cancer but you die of a heart attach.. they still have to put that you had cancer but cause of death is heart attach.. The problem starts when someone that knows nothing about how the healthcare system works and sees covid on a death certificate and immediately has an assumption because they died in a crash.. or a news media person gets word.. that's not totally a truth but it makes the story sound so much better.. maybe their story that isn't completely true will make the front page and the boss gives the reporter a raise.. The juicier the story the better the rating..  ( Ever watch that spiderman movie where he works as a photographer that's how I see the bosses at the news media places )  What happen to real truthful news rather than trying to impress the competitors or get more follows and likes.. Todays news is more like a entertainment channel of some fiction shows..  They are just there to make a story.. even if it's not exactly true..

I'll get off the soap box now.. won't touch this topic again as Charlie shows in his meme.. The women yelling through the megaphone to the brick wall.. There are two sides.. one that believes and one that doesn't.. one is on the outside of that wall and the other is on the inside of that wall.. both are strong believers in what they believe..

Love the cartoon and the analogy mate.
If a "News" station has opinions they should be made to call themselves a "Magazine" News is "The facts and only the facts".
The only tiny place we differ is the two "Beliefs" Everybody knows the earth is round, but some believe it to be flat.
