Friend wanted a lotus

I know this is simple, but a Co-worker asked me to cut something for her, for a friends wedding. She sent me a pic of a lotus flower with a symbol in it.   TD and Grampa.  I showed both to her and she chose TD's.   So I cut it from some 1/4" hard maple. I think it's about 8x8 inches in size.  I asked the lady what the meaning of the lotus and the symbol was to her, and this is what she told me.  Always interesting to learn new stuff. 

Lotus flower is considered very auspicious in Hindu religion. Lot of our Gods are shown seated on the lotus flower. It also teaches us how it blooms in the muddy waters but the leaves and the flower is always clean and pure. That's how we should stay in this world. Not to get bothered by the ugliness of people and this world.

Symbol Om - Universal sound. When you make that sound it generates vibration in our body that purifies our mind.

Wow at first glance I thought the names were on a metal plate.  The shiney yellow color just made it like metal.  Oh and the perfect lettering made it look machine made. 

I had to zoom in to see the perfect cutting.

Lotus leaf is a good meaning in Buddhism. In our area,

food using lotus leaves is famous.

Especially, hot dogs are excellent.
