When ever I get a new pattern I automatically print one and place it in my binder so if needed I can always print a copy.

That way I always have the original.

Good thinking, but for me 60,000 pages adds up to a stack!!!

There has been automatic backup software out there for years. Also Automatic backup to paid 'Clouds'. Most my life I've been broke so I have never stored important info into a paid service that I may not be able to afford. Now solid state external hard drives with  usb hook up are cheap. Hook up a hard drive, install automatic software and spend some time selection what you want to keep backed up. Software kicks in and backs up every day, week, month and backs up your files.

Here is some free stuff, https://www.lifewire.com/free-backup-software-tools-2617964
