new2woodwrk Posted January 13, 2022 Report Posted January 13, 2022 I've received my first flocking kit (mini flocking tool, emerald green flocking and adhesive)... My question is thought, do I have to get a different flocking tool for each color? We're going to be doing Green, red and blue. Thanks as always in advance Quote
Karl S Posted January 13, 2022 Report Posted January 13, 2022 (edited) I use the same flocking tool for all of the colors that I use, I just tap it with the open end of the tube on a piece of plastic bag , and it comes out really pretty clean. I have never experienced any color mixing while doing this. Edited January 13, 2022 by Karl S new2woodwrk, Dan and jbrowning 2 1 Quote
don watson Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 +1 for what Karl S says. I use red, green and blue and never noticed any effects. new2woodwrk 1 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 I do the same except if I am changing colours especially black or brown I dump it out as above and then suck any residue out with a vacuum. My favorite to use is the dark brown. new2woodwrk 1 Quote
Joe W. Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 (edited) WHAT THE FLOCK? sorry - could not resist. This is the first time I've heard of flocking and it open up yet another door for decorating. THANKS for the post. Edited January 14, 2022 by Joe W. new2woodwrk and John B 1 1 Quote
meflick Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 Same, we have one flocking tube that we have used at various times with different colors. Just made sure it was “clear” before reusing. new2woodwrk 1 Quote
flarud Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 You could always put a little bit of clear flocking in the tube to rinse it out before going to the next color. John B, Jim Finn and new2woodwrk 1 2 Quote
