don in brooklin on Posted May 20, 2022 Report Posted May 20, 2022 (edited) Found it. When I open or save in Inkscape I do not get the standard Windows menu I get the black screen below. What I am looking for is the typical windows file explorer menu. Does anyone know the preference for this. Currently using 1.2 but same thing occurred in 1.1 Thanks D s Edited May 20, 2022 by don in brooklin on found it Quote
Foxfold Posted May 20, 2022 Report Posted May 20, 2022 I must confess to using 'save as' because that takes me to my own folders. Wouldn't know how to do it with the inkscape page you've shown. Not much help to you but thought I'd put my tuppence worth in. x danny 1 Quote

I took the Logos by Nick course and you can ask questions there. Nick did not have the answer which is really odd as he knows Inkscape inside and out. I kept on googling thill I realized that preferences has a search feature and found the save feature. I just updated to Inkscape 1.2 and it has some neat features that I hopefully will outline for pattern makers shortly. Fab4 and Foxfold 2 Quote
barb.j.enders Posted May 20, 2022 Report Posted May 20, 2022 I certainly haven't spent much time with Inkscape but I know that I have never seen that page! Quote
Joe W. Posted May 21, 2022 Report Posted May 21, 2022 I did some looking and found a way to change the file location destination for using the save command: The file path is: PC/AptData/Roaming/Inkscape/preferences.xml scroll down to where the file destination file name is and change it to your desired location. You may have to change the setting before hand to "show hidden files". Quote
