Dave Monk Posted March 19, 2023 Report Posted March 19, 2023 I have been told that there is an abundance of blue pine in your area. Is that true? That is pine that has been infested with beetles and killed the tree. It tends to turn the wood a blue grey color. I would love to acquire some if you know where I can get it. Scrappile Posted March 19, 2023 Report Posted March 19, 2023 There use to be a guy near Vancouver, Wa, that sold lots of it, but I think he went out of business. a couple years ago. Least I haven't been able to find his site lately. If I remember correctly he was called "handsome woodworker or some thing like that. I see it often in local Home Depot. The sell it in 1 "x 8" tongue and grooved boards for walls. OCtoolguy, Dave Monk and scrollingforsanity 3 Quote
Scrappile Posted March 19, 2023 Report Posted March 19, 2023 Well I kept looking and it wasn't the handsome woodworker, it was the handsome woodman. There is still a site but I could not get it to work well.. Use to be you picked the piece you wanted from pictures and ordered. Too bad he had neat stuff.. Maybe someone bought his business I saw one place had a listing of it being for sale. If you search Blue pine lumber for sale I found several places that advertise it, most in the form of lumber for paneling wall but some may have chunks.. It is not just northwest thing. It is caused by bugs. Dave Monk, scrollingforsanity and OCtoolguy 3 Quote

I found a couple of boards at Lowes a year or so ago but it didn't have much blue at all in it. Haven't seen any in the box stores for quite a while. I've called several places that I found on line but they are wanting to sell in large quantities. If you find a piece with a lot of blue in it I would sure buy it. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

kywoodmaster Posted March 26, 2023 Report Posted March 26, 2023 Dave the blue pine that we get around my area is almost always shipped from Texas. I don't have any now to get a mill stamp but I would think it should be fairly easy to find.. Dave Monk 1 Quote

Dave, I just saw this thread. Up here by Spokane, WA you can find it on Craigslist all the time. There is a pretty 2 inch thick piece that is in Naches (located by Yakima) https://yakima.craigslist.org/for/d/naches-blue-pine-slabs-live-edge/7605381556.html. But they are also located in Idaho as well. Quote

MarieC Posted April 4, 2023 Report Posted April 4, 2023 Oh my gosh, I see you live in TX...Thought you were from our neck of the woods. So, there is another guy who advertizes on craigslist all the time...you could contact him...https://spokane.craigslist.org/mat/d/spirit-lake-blue-pine-and/7606300545.html his phone number is in the ad...maybe he would ship some to you. Also Windsor Plywood 509 444-9663 carries tongue and groove, slabs and 4/4 and they do ship. I need to go into town today, I will try to swing by there (one of my favorite places to shop ) and take some pics for you.... Quote

Here are the pics from Windsor Plywood (see earlier post). They sell any amount you want. They will cut it to the size you want. Hope this helps. And yes home depot has it as well. Just not as nice... Quote
