I got a bird feeder with a built in camera for Christmas.  The brand was Soliom.  It is well made of metal and sturdy.  The setup was fun with my phone but finally got it working.  This is an up close view of a Cardinal

Nice setup, Larry. How good is the app at bird ID?

I really have not tried the ID part.  We are quite good at identifying the birds in our area. We routinely feed the birds and know their names and even some of their calls.  During spring and fall migrations, it can be difficult because you have some very similar coloring.  

So far, I am impressed with this feeder camera.  I have to mount the solar panel for it tomorrow.

Yup, sound like us. We have our regular visitors and know them also. We usually get thrown for a loop when a stranger shows up. We use the Merlin app from Cornell University. It keeps track of all the birds we ID through the app. I'm just wondering if the Soliom app also keeps track. I think I'll read a bit about it. Thanks!

Nice.  My next-door neighbor has a similar bird feeder, don't know the brand, waiting to hear results.

I have no had this for about 10 days and still working great. I did not have the solar panel on for four days and it ran on the battery just fine. I have the solar panel on now and it even charges some with all clouds.  With the sun, it charges fast.

We have had so many birds until today when a pair of Cooper Hawks were soaring about.   I have been sending files to my grandkids and they like them.  I am attaching a video of some Common Grackles from yesterday.
