Popular Post munzieb Posted July 2, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted July 2, 2025 Assorted house projects, travel and a lingering summer cold have kept me away from my saw, but now I'm back. My wife ordered 2 Alex Fox patterns cut and they went fairly fast. The aircraft came from my sister's 80's birthday party guest. He mentioned that he had recently flown on a Hawker 800EX business jet. Told him that I had worked on the earlier model, Hawker 700 back in the early 80's. Conversation touched on all sorts of aviation topics. Decided to surprise him with a cutting of the 800. He received it yesterday and was totally surprised and thanked me profusely. Dinner and drinks are waiting the next time I'm in the area. Dave Monk, Archer, wombatie and 11 others 14 Quote

I haven't been scrolling lately because I refinishing an old mantel clock that my mother had. It was built sometime around 1890. My mother got it in the early 40's. She painted it pink when pink was really popular in the early 50's. What a job. Been working on it pretty much full time for the past month. I happy I don't refinish furniture for a living. When I'm finished I will post it. Have to go in for surtery next week. Hopefully I won't be down for long. Oh, forgot to mention the clock still works. Hopefully it still ticks when I'm finished. Jerry Thanks Jerry, Pink Clock?? What kind of wood is underneath. It's usually veneer but nice. We have a Howard Miller Grandfather Clock and I always lub it once a year to keep it running good. I have to because the local Clock repair shop closed up a few years ago. Heal up well from your surgery so you can start scrolling again. Quote

I think it was made primarely from walnut, but the back looks like plywood, if they had plywood back in the 1880's Quote

heppnerguy Posted July 11, 2025 Report Posted July 11, 2025 I have also not been on here very often for quite some time. It has nothing to do with health, I am happy to say. I was just thinking about you as I came here to see what others have been doing and say your post. Take it easy and enjoy the rest of summer. Dick heppnerguy munzieb 1 Quote
