FREE for SSV Patrons! We are doing a Giving Thanks scroll saw challenge over at Scroll Saw Village for the month of November. So here is word art project inspired by scripture. From 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In all things, give thanks...” Even outside of the Thanksgiving holiday, I think it’s a lovely reminder to be grateful for the things we have. Great project to stack cut so you have copies to give friends and family. Finished with a simple acrylic spray topcoat. Measures about 11″x10″ Check out the step-by-step tutorial here:

  2. Added a new tutorial to the Project Workshop. Pretty useful little design. Still porting projects over as I have time.

FREE for SSV Patrons! Here’s a quick and easy project that would be a great craft show seller. Cut from ¼” stock and add a magnet to the back. To use, keep the “Dirty” part of the sign facing up. When you start your dishwasher, flip it to “Clean.” Once the dishwasher is unloaded, flip it back over to “Dirty.” Now you’ll know with a glance if your dishes are clean or dirty (without the bother of actually opening the dishwasher). Check out the step-by-step tutorial here:

  4. This month's challenge is about fun and games. Post your game or puzzle projects here! Have you made a game? Chess, checkers, cribbage, or some other game? How about puzzles? Jigsaw puzzles, free-standing puzzles, mind teaser puzzles? Post those here. I love games and puzzles. I can't wait to see them.
  5. The affiliate thing made me laugh. $4 commission off of $20k isn't too far from the truth.
  6. Well, with all that, I was finally able to move the Village University. The software I bought to run the classes became broken and useless, so I built my own version. At the end of the day, I think this will work better, look nicer, and you won't have to "Enroll" to view the lessons. I'm a little sad that we lost all the comments, though. There was good discussions in there. Anyway, check out the new University. Let me know if you see anything odd or missing. https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/village-university/

Here are a few downloadable resources you may find helpful. Many of the downloads are also available in the individual lessons. Links to the lessons have been provided where available. More information on how to use these downloads is explained in the appropriate lesson. This resource is a centralized location for all downloads and handouts. While the concepts and tools remain the same, the new software may look a bit different than what I have on my screen. If you want the same version I used, I have provided that below. 25. When it rains, it pours. I went in today to see if I can make things look a bit nicer, but the software isn't behaving properly. Every time I try to update the lesson, it deletes it instead. A few years back, I purchased software that manages courses like this. Unfortunately, the development of the software was early access begin with. The forum software has since updated, and the developers of the course software are not keeping up. So while the Village University is functioning and folks can access the lessons, I'm going to try to figure out a new solution. So expect some changes to Village University once I get things figured out. /sigh
