Very nice Keith. Great advise from Barry about the paint on the edge of the backer board. Thats about the only thing I would suggest. You did a great job. Thanks for showing us.
Travis, I tried several different ways to color the bookmarks and found the best was to stamp them using a pigment ink and then use colored pencils. My stamping pens tended to soak into the grain too much but the pencils worked great. Then just did a very light spray with poly to set the ink and pencil then several more light sprays. If sprayed too heavy the first time the colors ran together. The wood is 1/16".
Way to go Christina! You did an awesome job on your first portrait. I don't think the dog looks like a bush....maybe a fur ball!!! LOL Your mom is gonna love it!
I have been busy making key chains from Steve Goods program and also messing around with my rubber stamps to see if I could stamp some bookmarks for friends and family. Check out my photobucket album....the link is under my name.....let me know what you think!
Travis, I see what you mean about the paper's bridges....I probably should have put a bridge in the top inside corner. But since you didn't need it I'll leave the pattern as is!
Travis, what a thrill to see the raven cut at last! You made my day! You did a great job on the cutting. I just love the look in that birds eye....very POE-etic! LOL Did you have to make any alterations? I'm always worried if the bridges are too thin. Thanks for the tip about the sharpie...I'll have to try that...I have a stamp with my name but I don't like the way it looks so I just stamp the back of my work. Thanks for cutting my pattern!
I have never cut more than one portrait at a time because they were just used for specific gifts. Now I wish I would have on a couple because I could have sold them with little effort. I'm glad to hear your stack cutting was a success and congratulations on your sale.
Chris, nice work in your album. You did a great job on the chess pieces. I like the owl and the POW sign. Thanks for showing us.
Chistina, the heart word art can be found in the November 2008 issue of Creative Woodworks and Crafts.
Nice work in your gallery grampa! You did a great job on the phone stand and the computer desk. What a cute little mouse! I love the toybox. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Marg and welcome back. We would all like to see what you've been working on all summer! Now that its finally summer here I hope to do more in my shop also.
