  7. The problem you seem to be having is red oak has an open grain and as such will wick away the glue before it has a chance to set. Try sealing the wood first then using the superglue. DW
  8. Nicely cut Kevin. Thanks for sharing them with us. DW
  9. Looks good and solid. The switch will save you problems with the saw in the long run ... Good idea. Thanks for sharing it with us. DW
  10. Nicely done. One of the ways to get around that is to use a drying oil such as Tung or Danish oil to seal the project and then just top coat with the other. Thanks for sharing it with us DW

  19. The good Lord was looking over you when that happened. I am relieved that you were not injured. This was a wake up call of sorts. Just because a power tool is small does not mean that it can not hurt you. The average speed of one of those is about 10,000 rpm or greater so if it flings something, be it the tip in the chuck or something that the tip gets a grip on that object is going to be flying with considerable force. There is a very definite reason why safety glasses / goggles should be worn as well as a respirator / dust mask. I am glad you were not hurt but this just underscores the need for shop safety equipment. It's not doing you any good if it's on the wall or in the drawer. < steps off soap box > DW
  20. If you keep the can vertical it will not spray out a stream. It only does this when it is brand new. I use it and the spray glue that I can get very cheaply at Harbor Freight. I put done painters tape first then spray the pattern back. DW
  21. Congratulations Kevin. The Lord moves in mysterious way. Glad you got a saw upgrade and gave the old one to a fledgling scroller. Wish more folks would do things like that. Looking forward to seeing your new stuff made with the Dewalt. DW
  22. Participated in the 33rd annual art festival. It is juried and was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of my space. It was not the best I have ever done there but I still made profit for the day. There were 52 vendors this year. I think it was the threat of thunderstorms that held folks back a bit. Still it was a fun day. DW
  23. Very nicely cut Mimi. Thanks for sharing that one with us. How are you going to frame it? DW
  24. I used to do that as well Jim. This of course was before I took up scrolling Now I do not have to spend so much money on bandaids:) DW
  25. Looks good. Thanks for sharing them with us. Just curious what are you going to frame them with? DW
