  1. Very nicely done. good choice for a finish.. Might wish to make a mineral oil + bees wax finish. You can get the instructions on the internet for making it. Thanks for sharing them with us. DW
  2. This is my first shell. The concept and general instructions came out of the latest SSW&C Magazine Summer 2012 issue 47. I used appleply from Lowes for the shell and black walnut for the ring base. The shell was finished with beeswax paste wax. DW

  7. I found a great buy on Bloodwood at my local Woodcraft store. The box is 7 inches wide, 9 inches long and 1 inch deep. Bloodwood is dense, hard on scroll saw blades but takes glue and finishes well. I used teak oil finish on this on then flocked the inside with a Kelly Green flocking. The lid has a liner of 1/4 inch thick cedar. DW

  16. Cut from a piece of reclaimed cherry. These words are 5/8 thick and 2 inches high at the capital letter the have been finished with tung oil. Cut at the request of my Mother. The font used was called Creampuff. DW
  17. Made this puzzle box from a piece of wood I call Tiger Maple because of the stripes. Sealed with tung oil and then I used the homemade beeswax paste. DW
  18. These are patterned after the new style puzzle boxes in the Summer 2012 SSW&C magazine. One is aromatic cedar and the other is mahogany. The Cedar one has a shellac finish and the Mahogany one has a beeswax paste finish. DW

  22. Here are my latest projects Pocket Watch - Cut from Mahogany and finished with Tung Oil and low gloss lacquer. Small Alarm Clock - Cut from American Black Walnut and finished with shellac Bike Puzzle - Cut from hard maple and finished with Tung Oil 5 x 3 inch Oval Walnut Bowl - Cut from American Black Walnut and finished with a homemade Beeswax and Mineral Oil pates wax. DW

  24. Made this bowl from a piece of wood I got from my local Woodcrafters called Dalmation. It is very very dense hard to cut and sand but will polish very nicely. DW
