  1. I am a bottom feeder.
  2. that's great Kevin.
  3. I have the rigid that is posted. I have a separate disc sander but find I don't use it much besides sharpening my cheaper lathe tools with it. I do however use the Rigid a lot, both the belt and the drums.
  4. that was nice of them. I have been buying my blades and other things from them for many years and have had no problems.
  5. I use flying Dutchman blades and flat end blades. I hate using the spirals. You won't be able to get to small of inside cuts with a pinned end blade, the pilot hole will need to be pretty big to get the blade in.
  6. I cut my first one from 3/4" but now I cut from 1/2" stock. The last couple I cut from mahogany, it was easy to cut and looked good. I liked the way it looked better in the 1/2" material versus the 3/4".
  7. great cutting Dick. well done.
  8. very nice.
  9. excellent job Dave.
  10. Hi Kyle. Welcome to the Village. I have only made a few of the intersecting word art cuttings but I have sold them for $35 each.
  11. I have mine raised in the back as well, just on a bench not on the stand
  12. I would say either cherry or hard maple
  13. I had the same problems. I used it for my albs for completed projects and it was difficult for other to find. So I stopped using it and not use Facebook for my crafts.
  14. great looking boxes.
  15. you have some very nice cuttings Wade.
  16. Thank you. I don't use it a lot either. I like using for these signs because it cut easy and is a good looking wood.
  17. Thank you. And yes the backer is a piece of 1/8" tempered hardboard painted black. I also bevel the back edge to make it less noticeable.
  18. thank you for all the comments. the pattern has been posted.
  19. Yes Larry I will post a pattern later tonight when I'm back at my computer
  20. here is my latest cutting and pattern. This was made for my sister in law. It is cut from 1/2" mahagony.
  21. I sit when scrolling and use a foot switch. My saw is also on an angle.
  22. great cutting, I'm going to go look for that pattern. Well done.
  23. relax and talk to them as if you were just teaching/ talking to one person. Take samples of different types of scrolling if possible. Talk about from start to finish from applying pattern to final cut. When I did one I was asked where I got the patterns, blade sizes/differences, and most important what saw to use. Get the group involved, if they (at least a few) are interested in scrolling and ask questions time will seem to fly by. If you are going to have a saw there let some try to cut with it.
  24. I've been to her studio several times. It is enjoyable walking through looking at all her completed projects. She is pleasant to talk to. I asked her about the Excalibur (she has 10 or so in her shop) when I was looking for a new saw, she took me in the shop and let me try one out, very nice lady and willing to help.
  25. congrats on the new saw. enjoy and make some sawdust
