  1. Well said DIck, I too enjoy coming to the village.
  2. Hi Tom. Welcome to the Village. Ask all the questions you want, someone here will help out.
  3. As othere have said, if your making several of a simple pattern make a pattern out of thin stock. I use poster board alot for this. when I glue patterns to wood I use mineral spirits on a rag a just wipe over it, it softens the glue and the pattern peels off

  5. Great cutting.
  6. Thanks for all the comments. I gave it to him and he loved it
  7. I made this for a friend. It measures about 12 x 14. Cut on the scroll saw from s single piece of poplar. I used watered down acrylic paints for the colors. The face is natural wood color.
  8. I have a tablet I use when making patterns. It is a lot easier to control the pen versus the mouse. I bought a cheap version on the Wacom tablet off eBay several years ago. It works great

  21. great work Dick.
  22. sorry to hear that. I never had much luck selling at crafts show. I give some stuff away and that usually leads to future sales. I sell more than by word of mouth than I ever have at a show. When someone wants something they come to me and I don't have to sit for hours/days at a show. Another good thing about not doing shows for me is I don't have to keep a lot of inventory. I can make it when ordered.
  23. I usually go for black, but I think the both look good.
  24. good luck. I have wanted to try that too, I just haven't got brave enough to order the pattern. Stack cut pieces whenever possible, it will save you a little time.
  25. great job. I like the wood slab too.
