  1. Thanks for the input guys. I believe I'm going with the Hawk. I've been wanting one for years so now just got to save up the rest of the money. Roly the Excalibur is the only saw I know of that the head tilts instead of the table. I don't do much cutting where I need an angle cut so this isn't a concern.
  2. I'm looking to buy a new saw. my Dewalt has bit the dust after 2 1/2 - 3 years. I was planning on buying a used saw to save money and "get me by" but now I'm just going to buy a new one. No more Dewalts. I'm going back and forth between the Hawk and the Excalibur. Can anyone that has these saw or has used them give me some help. I'm really leaning towards the Hawk. how is the blade change or doing inside cuts with the hawk? I have seen both saws work but would like some input from people that have used them more than me just trying them for a few minutes. As of right now I'm using my old reliable Dremel 1800.

  7. excellent cutting and a great pattern.
  8. I believe when I made this pattern I just got a generic picture of a saw blade off the net and used it. You could do as Danny said as well. Delete my pattern from it and use the outline of my blade
  9. Great cuttings Kevin. I agree the peppers need some color(although I hate painting wood). The deer pattern is mine, it is available in the library along with a squirrel one
  10. Welcome to the Village. The first thing I do is take the hold down foot off, for me jn just gets in the way. I would make sure all the bearings and moving partsare lubricated
  11. I only wanted one myself but with my wife and friend I walked out with 7 pattens.
  12. Nope not this year. I'm spending the holiday with friends in Tennessee. I have a rew intarsia projecrs planned for when I get back. My wife and our friend just picked out a few more patterns while we were visiting Judy Roberts.

  20. This is not my pattern. The name on the pattern is Phunky, But I don't know which site I got it from. There were several scroll saw forums that no longer exist so it may cam from one of them.
  21. thanks for the comments. I stack cut 4 of these. I think I will leave 2 each way, and leave it to the customer as to which they like better. The more I look at the them the more I can't decide.
  22. I used to use olsen blades, now I only use flying Dutchman blades. To me they cut more aggresive which I like. Get a couple different brands to try and see which one you like the best.
