  1. So sorry to hear this, My condolences to the family.
  2. I sit
  3. Thanks Jim, but I made some room for it. Now just to get used to blade change and the blade tension.
  4. Thanks Kevin, You are correct, it was on https://www.hibid.com. I thought I had posted that here too.
  5. This is the saw I bought from auction after asking the questions on here. After getting it home I realized it was a little bigger than expected and my shop was a little to small to add another tool. So I added a small addition to hold the Hawk. It looks to be in great shape. I broke the air blower hose when unloading that's why its a different color. It came with a magnifying light, and the small "side tray" but didn't get them back on before I took the pic. I haven't use it much yet. the blade change may take a little getting used to. I'm thinking of using this for my intarsia and my EX 21 for the fretwork for now.
  6. Got the saw in my shop. Everything looks and seems to work great, except I broke the air blower(plastic fitting). Now to make a little room and give it a go.
  7. I am a Hawk owner. Got the Hawk G4 for $ 330. I am going tomorrow to pick it up. I hope it is as nice as the pictures.
  8. I will have to drive about an hour to get it.
  9. That what I was hoping to hear. still have a day left on auction, but as long as it don't go high , it will be sitting in my shop next week.
  10. Thanks guys, I won't be able to hear or see it run. It is part of an online action, right now I have the winning bid at $ 130. I think I am going to take my chances. Like I said I have always wanted a Hawk scroll saw.
  11. I have a chance to buy a Hawk G4 scroll saw pretty cheap and was wondering from all of you that have or know about hawks is this model a good saw? I have always wanted one and this is my chance but if its not a good model I will pass on it. Thanks
  12. Nope luckily the project I was working on I can finish the few remaining cuts on my bands saw. And I do have plenty of other things to keep me busy until the parts arrive.
  13. I was doing some scrolling tonight and my blade kept slipping out of the bottom holder. I took the thumb screw out and it looked there was a little spring on the end of it. Not a spring it was the threads of lower blade clamp. Just got done ordering new upper and lower blade clamp assemblies, so I will not be scrolling for a week or so. I have the Excalibur 21 its almost 4 years old and this is the only problem I've had. I'm pretty sure it is caused by me over tightening the thumb screw.
  14. well done
  15. Thank you all for the comments.

    DeWalt DW788

I had this saw for just over 2 years, and everything started going bad. The bearings wore out, making a loud banging noise. The last straw was the motor and speed control went out. it did work well though when I first bought it.
  19. I have been away from the Village and out of my shop for a while. This is cut into 1/8" baltic birch plywood. It is 16" x 20" not including the frame, the frame is made from walnut. I have just under 12 hours of cutting time. The pattern is by Charles Dearing.

    Excalibur EX-21

I have used this saw for a couple hours finally. The saw cuts great. Easy blade change, I like how the arm stays up. no need for a block of wood or aftermarket arm lift(like dewalt). very little vibration and it is quiet. I'm happy I went with the ex21. The only thing I didn't like was the clear dust collection thing on the bottom of the table, tiny pieces get stuck in it.
  21. great job
  22. thanks you all for the comments.
  23. very nice.
  24. great job on all three. I really like the SOA
  25. great job. that has a lot of tiny detail.
