  1. This pattern has been around since at least Spring 2007 when Santomarco Enzo showed his version in SSWC magazine. Another designer named HONEY also had a version, I've always liked the pattern and the theme and I finally cut one just for myself today. My wife cut the crucifix on her vinyl cutter for me. I did cut one on the scrollsaw as an over-lay but, preferred the thin vinyl better. God Bless! Spirithorse
  2. I like them both but, I guess I am the odd man out because I prefer the blue backer. Great work! God Bless! Spirithorse
  3. Welcome to the forum, Angelo, I cut 3/4" quite often and the type of wood really makes a huge difference. Number 5 blades are my choice for almost everything from 1/8" to 3/4" but, I am usually cutting Baltic Birch Plywood or Pine. The Baltic Birch will definitely Dull or break blades more quickly than the pine. Have you tried using skip tooth blades instead of reverse tooth blades in the thick wood? Skip tooth blades will give the blade more time to clear out the kerf (remove the saw-dust from the cut). If you are not cutting a lot of sharp angles you could try using a number 7 blade instead of the number 5. It is important to let the blade do the cutting and do NOT force the wood into the blade too quickly or too hard into the blade. Please show us some of your work when you can. We love pictures! I don't post photos very often but, I did post some today. You can see some of my work in the post from Spirithorse today. God Bless! Spirithorse

  5. Hi, Jerry, As you are probably aware, I have a strong interest in religious patterns and I have always liked this one. When I first began seeing this, there was some discrepancy as to who designed it. One designer was HONEY from the old ARPOP site. Another designer named ENZO also claimed credit for this pattern. I know Enzo contributed to Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts magazine and may have even shown this pattern there. Another version of this pattern just had a cross added to the portrait. Just a very small, cross silhouette. I'll look for some samples by both designers and PM you with what I find. God Bless! Spirithorse

  8. Hi, Dick, I read the message before I scrolled down to the pic and I suspected where the story was leading but, that didn't run nearly as badly as I anticipated and I think it is still giftable as it is! God Bless! Spirithorse

  10. Beautiful urn. I'm sorry about the loss of your friend. I don't really understand the protrusion in the front. Maybe another photo from the side would give me a better visual. It's not really necessary so don't go to any trouble but, I was curious. God Bless! Spirithorse
