  1. Beautiful pattern, Charlie and a very nice, useful project that can be displayed with pride. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  2. Beautiful work! I agree with others that mentioned cutting at such a small size with such detail. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  3. Good luck with your spiral trial. I haven't really given them much of a chance or a fair comparison because I can accomplish quite a bit with a straight blade. God Bless! Spirithorse
  4. Hi, Steve, I use the wax paper pretty much as kmmcrafts described. Just a very thin layer of glue which I spread out with a scrap of wood from the cutting and then weight the project down until the glue dries, Normally it is dry enough to take the weight off within 3 hours, This works great for intarsia as well and gives enough time to re-align any pieces that seem to want to shift while they are being glued on the edges of individual pieces. If the layered projects you are doing have several different heights, you could also use bits of scrap laid on the lower levels so you have a top layer all the same level before placing much weight on it. I usually just grab a case of pop for weight but, heavy books like encyclopedias work well also. Good luck and God Bless! Spirithorse
  5. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  12. Good work around @octoolguy I thought if I wanted to cut these patterns, I would just cut the open area at the end of the blank much smaller so it wasn't that close to the edge but, that still might not work either. Your work around is a better plan. God Bless! Spirithorse
  13. Here's a photo of what happened when I tried to cut this. Please don't judge the cutting based on this experiment. I just wanted to see what happened and why. You are correct that when one tab is cut off, the other tab is no longer there but, I taped it back on to try to make the narrow tab that I surmise SHOULD have been left. I don't know what happened to the bottom, left hand edge. Is that what happened to your cuts @rdatelle ? Or did I cause that by trying to tape the end portion back on and re-cut the other side? God Bless! Spirithorse
  14. Hi, @rdatelle, I apologize that I did not understand what type of problem you had. So, Ralph, the only other problem I could foresee is the notches or tabs not aligned perfectly. I know how frustrating something like this can be! I might just print one of those patterns out and try it myself since I don't have any important cuttings waiting to be done. Ray @octoolguy can view the actual pattern on Steve Good's site here https://www.stevedgood.com/catalog/ which shows that you used the correct pattern. (if it does not bring up the correct page, just type in NASCAR) God Bless! Spirithorse
  15. Great work, Paul! You have every right to be proud. Once again, I thank you for your service. As you may recall, I am a Navy vet. God Bless! Spirithorse
  16. Welcome to the village, Dave, How old is the pattern you used for your Lord's Prayer, please? Is that pattern no longer available? Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  17. Hi, Ralph, My guess is that your wood stock is the wrong size. In the Steve Good patterns, his wood size is 5" x 3/4" x 3/4" You have to make sure the pattern size matches the wood stock. If you use 1" wood as you said, you have to re-size the pattern so that it is 2" wide, very close to exact, and fold it in half so each 1" piece of the pattern fits the 1" wood stock. God Bless! Spirithorse
  18. Well done! It's amazing how much difference the beading makes to the overall production. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  19. Nicely done! One improvision you could have made for the different thickness of wood would have been to make notches in the poles the people are holding that would have matched the slots you already had in the ark. I'm just mentioning that for future reference if you make another or if you make changes to other patterns in the future. Your solution works just as well. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! 20. Another beautiful piece of art, Charlie! I hope that sells for a good price and, again your generosity it commendable. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  23. Thanks for the kind reply, Dick, and thanks for the prayers. I'll take time to drop you a PM in the near future. God Bless! Spirithorse
  24. Fantastic gift, Dick, and well done! What exactly was done to the bandana/scarf? My grandson is seven now and, especially with my failing health, I have been thinking more and more about my own mortality. He has lots of toys and plaques to remember me by and I just helped him again this year with his 2nd PineWood Derby car for Cub Scouts. He even said while I had him sanding it, "I feel like a woodworker" which melted my heart. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  25. Wow! That is fantastic! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
