  1. Nicely done, Linda! Really nice cuttings. May I suggest, now you could try some 3/4" pine and cut those same projects. After they are cut, round the edges over to please your eye. You could either cut them as a segmented piece (since they're to be painted) or, follow the grain directions on the patterns for the intarsia look. Of course, if you use the intarsia style with the grain directions changing, you would probably just want to use a thinned down paint job so the grain still shows through. (these are just some rambling thoughts that you may be interested in trying). Very nice work! God Bless! Spirithorse
  2. Very nice! That sure looks like a lot of entry holes! I admire scrollers that can use spiral blades. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  3. Nice work, Pete, I don't know if that is one of Iggy's patterns for the wolf but, I happened across a pattern recently of the puzzle wolf made by our own @Dan from here on the village. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  4. Thanks for sharing! Lots of cute items there and I enjoyed your post. God Bless! Spirithorse
  5. Excellent! Shrinking a Charles Dearing pattern shows that you definitely aren't afraid of a challenge. I also envy anyone that can cut with a spiral blade. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  6. Greetings, Here is a strange article and strange project I found while searching for your request. https://mathcraft.wonderhowto.com/how-to/make-two-circle-wobbler-from-cds-0130738/ I cut some snowflakes and gave them away a LONG time ago. I think I used old CD's and when I tried old DVD's they just separated like there were several layers to the DVD. Good luck and God Bless! Spirithorse
  7. Cool alteration, Don, Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  9. Very nice project! I'd guess those spots would have taken me longer than the cutting. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  13. Nice work, Chuck! I don't recall seeing that pattern before. Can you tell me who designed it, please? God Bless! Spirithorse
  14. Welcome to the forum, Scott, You are off to a good start with your first projects! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  15. Thanks for sharing, Kevin, Yeah, the price of the inserts alone is the main reason I haven't made any clocks like that. I know I couldn't get a good price selling them around here and my wife would probably just see it as another dust collector if I made one for myself. I would still like to make a wooden gear clock just to know that I can do it and the novelty factor but, who knows if I will ever take the time to do it. God Bless! Spirithorse
  16. Greetings, Alan, Here is one site that calculates how many BTU's a standard 1500 watt heater should produce. https://homeguides.sfgate.com/much-space-1500-watt-heater-heat-up-87133.html When comparing that to some vent free propane heaters, here is an example https://www.lowes.com/pd/Dyna-Glo-30000-BTU-Wall-or-Floor-Mount-Liquid-Propane-Vent-Free-Infrared-Heater/999976660?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-sol-_-bing-_-pla-_-237-_-sosheating-_-999976660-_-0&kpid&placeholder=null&msclkid=6ef88bc0628217b0c4ffd58d96d060c5&gclid=CN7wgPqP3-cCFbKSxQIdE4gKCA&gclsrc=ds The only reason I chose the link for the propane heater is because it is the first one that came up sold at a big box store than almost every good sized town has near-by. When I first had my garage built, I thought I could heat it enough to be comfortable to work in with one of the vent free propane heaters with an up-graded fan for better circulation. Wrong! I had to be within 4 feet of the heater to feel any warm air! Good luck with your choice of purchase. God Bless! Spirithorse
  17. Very cute cutting! Well done! I also prefer the brown backer. God Bless! Spirithorse

  20. Very, very nice work, Frank, With work that thick, it would be very hard not to put side pressure on the blade as you are cutting. Also, the blade has to be square to the table and the thicker the wood, the more any minute discrepancies in square will show up. You are much more critical of your cuttings than anyone else would ever be. Those are excellent projects and you can be proud of them. God Bless! Spirithorse
  21. Nice work, Frank, Somehow I must have over-looked earlier posts. I'm glad Mushy worked out for you! God Bless! Spirithorse
