  1. Well the Tennis Project that I was working on is basicly finished. I had one of the girls that I could not do because I did not have a picture of her. So I am trying to get one of her so I can go ahead and make her one and get it to her. But it seems that they were a big hit. Almost made the number one girl and her mom cry with theirs (love it when that happens) Any way here are some pictures of the finished cuttings and some of the banquet. (My wife took the pictures so they are not the greatest, but at least I have a couple of them) I would be a very bad boy if I didn't send out a huge THANK YOU!! to Frank who did a couple cuttings for me. If it were not for Frank I would probably still be cutting them even now. Again thanks Frank. The Boys The Girls Coach and Team Mom Me getting ready to pass them out This one and the Rest are simply those few pic's of me passing them out.
  2. Some great work Steve. One of these years I might actually get around to trying sementation type work.
  3. Yes he has spirals. I think he has most any blade that you would need. If you do't see it on his web site, just fire him off an e-mail asking about what it is you need and if he don't have it he probably will know where to get it.
  4. I get my blades from http://www.mikesworkshop.com/ The Flying Dutchman. I have never had a problem with his blades, sharp and cut for a long time.
  5. You may want to check with sylvia. She is on another scrolling forum. She gave me a bunch of fonts for scrolling. She goes by Jr. Ranger.
  6. I wanted to let you all know that I have had to pull a couple patterns because I discovered that one of the pictures was copyrighted and I suspect the other one was as well. If it is discovered that the suspected pattern is not copyrighted I will repost it. But I wanted to let everyone know why a couple of patterns have disappeared that I was offering.
  7. AS I Understand copyright law, it is not a copyright violation to modify the pattern and add it to your layered pattern. You just can not share your layered pattern with others (like my example).
  8. You may modify any pattern you obtain for your use. What you may not do is use patterns designed by others to create a new pattern to distribute to others without the designers permission even if you give the designers credit. I will give you an example. This cutting Elements of this cutting came from two other designers and parts came from me. I can not share this pattern with anyone because I do not have permission from the other designers to do so. I can cut this pattern all day long and show off the cutting all I want and do as I will with the cutting. I just can not distribute the pattern in any way shape or form. So you can continue doing what you are doing with your layered peice, you just can not share, post, sell, give away the pattern you come up with, unless you obtain permission from the pattern makers who designed the elements you are using. I hope that clears things up a little, and that I did not make you brain go crazy.
  9. I have used the patterns of others to make up a new pattern myself. The designers of the original work ended up jumping all over me and asked me to remove it from the net even when I gave them credit for the original work, and I was just posting the pattern for additional ideas. So I would encourage you to get written permission from the author of the original workk.
  10. Thought I would provide a link to an article that I wrote for "Just Wood Working Magazine" when it was in publication as a little reminder for everyone since we had someone have a, thankfully , minor accident. http://members.cox.net/messman123/boneh ... _you_d.htm
  11. The only way I would be able to give you any ideas or suggestions is to see all the layers layed out on top of each other. I just can't properly visualize it. I'm sorry.
  12. Are you asking how to keep the stain and Poly in the cut out areas? or how to keep it from building up? To get stain or poly into those tight spots I will modify a brush to fit into them by cutting to the shape and size I want. If I am trying to get wet build up out of tight areas you can try those cheap model paint brushes that come to a fine point. I hope I answered the question you were trying to ask. "My brain is mush today so I may have missed the boat some how.
  13. Great work. Thanks for showing off the cuts, of course I am partial to tied together.
  14. Thanks blame, I forgot that it was posted in that posting. I guess that is just the good ol brain fart at it's best.
  15. Do we have an approx. date for this to start? Just wondering so I can try to plan around it. Chris
  16. As long as we dont get 6 degrees of the course and return to Kevin Bacon....I will be ok I got the reference can you tell Travis Chris
  17. That is why I make my own patterns, and sell some of my patterns on a site where every pattern is for $3.00. Keeping them affordable. Chris
  18. Even though I already make patterns this sounds like it would be good. I might learn a couple of things myself and pass on a little help to others as well. You can count me in as a student and as an instructors helper if needed. Chris

  24. Travis thanks for the input on what I am looking at for the work stations. Someone has ordered 6 of them for me. Also I received the 2 books you sent, The New Scroll Saw Handbook and the Scroll Saw Work Book. Thank you so much. I think that the two of those books used in conjunction with each other should give me a good jumping point for creating the lesson plans I will need to make. You are a blesed saint. Again thank you so much. Chris
