  1. Yes Alex, I think you should recut the infill piece. If for no other reason, it's a perfect chance to practice cutting on the line. I don't like big box store blades, but, even with them you should be able to follow the pattern lines. They were all that was available to me when I first started out, I learned how to use them and had no issues. You have to put the time it takes into practicing your cuts, and each different type of project could require more practice. Len
  2. Super cute puzzle Monti, did you cut this one, or, are you just showing it to us? Len
  3. All I use is a small paint brush, I can't imagine using a roller of any type on thin script lettering. A fine tipped model paint type paint brush, is great for putting the glue right where I want it.If the script is larger/wider, I use a wider tipped brush, the glue washes right out of them. Len
  4. Rick, it's a beautiful box, I imagine she's quite pleased with it. Len
  5. Ike, we're talking about the (CWW&C) Creative Wood Works & Crafts magazine, not the (SSWC) Scroll Saw Woodworks & Crafts. Len
  6. Northener, you are aware that this subject was started in 2014, right? I would like to know just for curiosities sake, how you came across this subject? I mean no offense, but, sometimes I wonder how these old postings are brought to the forefront. Where did you order, or try to renew your subscription? How could you be so bummed out, they stopped selling CWWC almost two years ago? One other thing, it might be just me, but, I don't think there's any need for the *** in your query. Len
  7. Keith, it looks fantastic, will you be adding a backer to it? Len
  8. Two very nice crosses Jim, there was lots of cutting to make them. I think I like the birch one better, but, both are exceptional. Len
  9. Cute sign Jim, the chickens were good sports to pose for the pics. Len
  10. Nicely done Peter, I really like all of the different colored birds. Len
  11. Ha, here's another case where I agree with MrsN. I have mahogany trim in my bathroom, it's been in there for over twenty-five years. It was coated with three coats of Varathane when installed, It looks as good today as it did when first installed. It's never been retreated, never seen the need to refinish. Len
  12. When cutting this type of blank, you'd never ever use any type of paint to stabilize the blank. The blanks are cut so thin, that the color of the paint will stain the blank making it unusable. No matter what you do, you're going to have a lot of unusable blanks due to cracking and warping. MrsN (Katie) has pretty much covered what you should do, but, keep in mind it's all a matter of trial and error. Did you try doing a Google search on the subject? Len
  13. Cool cutting. Len
  14. Nicely done Todd, both pieces look good. Len
  15. Nathan, you have every right to be happy with it, it looks fantastic. Len
  16. Nicely done Jim, it looks fantastic. Len
  17. You sure had a productive day Roly, everything looks great. Len
  18. Wow, what a puzzle. Len
  19. Happy Easter right back at ya Mike, this little cutting looks great. Especially, considering that you did it with spiral blades. Len
  20. Dick, once the finishing touches are added to this piece, it will look a lot different than it does right now. I don't doubt that you'll come to like it, once it is all done up. Cut yourself some slack, it looks nice. Len
  21. Too cute Peter, it looks fantastic. Len

Nicely done Rob, will you be adding a backer to it? What is Rimu like to cut and finish, is it a heavy wood? Len
  23. Dave, your inlay work is amazing, it looks as if they grew in place. Len
  24. Alex, you're well on your way, your work looks nice. Len
  25. Kevin, I agree with what Tony has posted, leave it alone. Other than adding the finishing touches, I don't think it needs a heart added. Len
