  1. Yes Brian, an EX will cut 3/4" stock without a problem. I own one, And I cut 1" maple with it quite often. As for blade tension, it about as simple as could be, and it holds blades taught. Personally, I think that you would be quite pleased with an EX scrollsaw, there's not much better out there. Len
  2. Nice an tidy looking little shop, looks like a person could have a good time in there. As for clipping the blade, I usually get enough use out of my blades that there is no need to do so. Plus, if you cut 3/4" off of the bottom, aren't you changing the way the blade works? On reverse type blades there is only a few teeth that cut on the upstroke, cutting 3/4" from the bottom of the blade would remove those teeth. Len
  3. Excuse me Trackman, did you make the pattern, or, did you cut a copy of the pattern out? The way you have your statement worded, it implies that you actually made the pattern. Len
  4. WOW, I can only imagine, it sure is an outstanding feat to cut something like this. Thanks for sharing this with us. Len
  5. Dick, is that ever cute, I;m sure your granddaughter will love it. Len
  6. Beautiful cutting Helmut, so much cutting, but, oh so worth it if you get results like this. Len
  7. Looks fantastic Dan, does the wreath have lights? Len

A bit different, but, I like it. I like the look with the painted finger nails, it sure changed the look. Len
  9. Nicely done Roly, is Emily cut, or, burnt? Either way, it looks as if it would be tough going. Len
  10. I'm sorry Merlin, I can't help you out. I don't recognize the tree from any of my magazines, do you have a picture of the finished item? It would be fine if you posted a picture of it finished, that's allowed by site rules. I think that that is the only way, that someone will be able to help out with this request. Maybe not. Len

Russell, it's the section between the I and the S, plus the two small sections at the top of the S and the T. Cutting the white sections in those letters, will just create a blank space. The letters won't be readable, because of the missing spacer between the letters. Len
  12. Nicely done Dick, I never saw this pattern before now it looks interesting. Len
  13. Nice work Marg, you and your daughter have come up with a good idea, I'll have to keep it in the back of my mind to use later. Len

Jesse, I'm sorry to say, but, because of the floaters I don't think this pattern will work. Len
  15. Nicely done Todd, are these meant to be used outdoors,or, are they for indoor use? If for outdoors, do you use any type of finish for a sealer? Len
  16. Beautifully done Helmut, and, oh so cute. Thanks for sharing them with us. Len
  17. Looking good Jerry, the angel pattern came from an old issue of CWWC. Len
  18. Wow Kris, does that ever look good. Len
  19. I own a Dewalt, I've had it for over ten years and it still works perfectly. I also owned a couple of aftermarket brands, one of them lasted for about twenty cuts, then burnt up. The other wasn't accurate enough, and no matter what we tried we couldn't get it right on. I have been thinking of buying a new saw, but, I don't use the saw all that much nowadays. Len
  20. I have, my neighbor had one in his shop. I don't know if it's still there, he died last year and a lot of his stuff has been sold. He used it on a regular basis, I didn't like using it, it was just to large. Len
