  1. Nicely done Rob, I like the original design best, they both are very nice though. Len
  2. Paul, LED lights are not a whole lot better then the one's you are now using, the best type of lights to use are the older style of mini lights. I used to be able to buy sets of fifteen to twenty-five lights, but now all I can seem to find are the type you used and LEDs. Len
  3. Edward, I've done what Jerry has suggested, and I had great results. Other times, I've used just the blade with no backer, and I had good results then also. A lot of the outcome depends on the type of wood your using, and a lot depends on what type of blade you used. You stated that you used a FD blade, you didn't happen to mention what type of FD blade you used? Was it a scroll reverse type or some other? Len
  4. Nice bowl Alex, I like making them but I hate finishing them. Len
  5. Larry, it's a gorgeous ornament, it would be a bit tricky cutting the reindeer that small. Len
  6. Jim, your team plaques look fantastic, and I love your tree. I wasn't going to put up a tree this year, not until I saw yours. Now that I've seen it, I think I just might get one like it, thanks for the idea. Len
  7. Monti, that was awfully nice of you, and a very good idea. Not only will your grandson remember you doing this for him, but it will be a keepsake for the teacher as well. Len
  8. Tim, it's gorgeous, I can only imagine how many hours you have into it. Len
  9. The pattern is the property of the designer, it is copyright protected. It makes no difference if it was a free pattern, it was only a free pattern on the Free4All site. That's the way it is with all these sites, we get patterns for free because we are members. And as members, we get the right to use the patterns, but they still belong to the designers to do what they want. Take Don, Don @ Old Crow Scrollworks, he is generous enough to share his patterns with us for free. But he also has a site that he sells them from, so why would he want you to give his pattern away? Don is a nice enough guy, that he probably wouldn't mind. But before you shared one of his patterns to a person who isn't a member here, you should contact him and ask. Len
  10. Jim, as always, two more examples of your perfect craftsmanship. You make amazing boxes, and your inlay work is right up there with the best of them. Len
  11. Nicely done Dan, I'm sure the employees will love getting them. How old is your son, why didn't he cut them out? Didn't you teach him now to scroll, what kind of father are you? He was around you all these years, and you didn't teach him to scroll, what a loss.(jk) Len
  12. Nicely done John,I like the Christmas decorations that you can take apart and lay flat to store. They take up so much less space, I've made a bunch of that type over the years. Len
  13. Larry, they look amazing, especially, the reindeer one. The two contrasting woods, makes it look special. Len
  14. I love it Monti, it's nice and colorful. Len
  15. Nicely done Monti, your friend will be pleased with this piece. Len
  16. Melanie, you did an outstanding job cutting these out, especially, considering it the first time you've ever compound cut. You should be pleased with these results, they turned out fine. Len
  17. Congrats on the publicity Ig, just imagine how much an ad or write-up like this would cost you to place in their paper. Hopefully, write-up will bring in more sales, but not more then you can handle. Getting more orders then you can handle, would not be good. It could turn people away from buying from you, plus people would start complaining about availability and service. For this being your first year doing this, it would be good to not take on to much over the season. It would be better to miss out on a few sales, then to be swamped and not get them out in time. Maybe you would be better prepared for sales next year, you would have a chance over the year to get stock built up. Which ever way you decide to go with this, I hope you are very successful with sales. Len
  18. Lee, you've only got four postings on here, when did you read the postings on you being closed? Len
  19. Personally, I don't recall ever reading about this mag before now, it may just be a memory thing though. The mag can't be all that popular though, if it was it would have been mentioned here a few times at least. And with reading Merlin's post, how comfortable would anyone be interested in taking the risk? I did take a look at the back issues pics on the site, the mag has some interesting patterns in it. But in amongst the patterns I saw, there is a couple that I've seen elsewhere. I would like to hear from anyone who has subscribed to this mag, I wonder what they think of the Mag, the patterns, and service they get? Len
  20. Dan, she did a great job, hopefully she gets a good ark out of it. Len
  21. Gorgeous outcome, I like the black backer best. Len
  22. Munz, that's an outstanding bit of scrolling, it a gorgeous piece. Len
  23. Congrats on having a successful sale Ike, I glad that your wife made out fine on her own. It had to have been quite concerning for you, she would appreciate you bringing her the bite to eat. I hope the both of you, have a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season together. Len
  24. Scott, that's a fantastic looking ornament, I really like the colors you used. Len
  25. Way to go Alex, it's a gorgeous pattern and an even more gorgeous cutting. Len
