    I don't think I would scroll as much if my saw wasn't at home. I like the convenience of having my kitchen so if I want a drink or a snack I can. I personally don't think that flee markets are good places to sell, the people who go are looking for a bargain not handcrafted at. Just my 2 cents

    The green ones are not all made in Canada. There is a run down of the manufacturing stuff here. http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/28586-excalibur-scroll-saw-what-happened/ But a green one is manufactured before 2012. If it is before 2003 it is Canadian. However, I don't think that not being Canadian is necessarily a bad thing. I don't know about old ex's but some machines have a date by the serial number, do you have a picture?

    The heat from an incandescent bulb could dry out the wood enough to cause warp.

    We used regular lamp knits, but CFL light bulbs so pretty low heat.

    My students made lamps earlier this year. For the shade part I bought a plastic ceiling panel. The kind used over a light in a drop ceiling. It was on clearance because it had cracked corners, but worked for the project because we were cutting it up.

    sticky fingers is one of the reasons I gave up using spray glue in favor of craft glue sticks. I usually use the rub together with sawdust method until I can get something stronger to clean them with.

    Hastings Minnesota is next to the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers, so I have some water, although not nearly as much as you.

    I think of varnish as something that adds a warm amber tone to wood. I would not use that with your pictures because it would change the colors. As for sticking pictures to wood...I use modge podge and cover with clear rustoleum.

    When you click on choose files and find the file you want to upload, the site will take a little bit to save the file. If you submit before the file is uploaded it won't attach. If your file is big or your internet slow it could take a bit for the file to upload.

    I got the Delta from Amazon for my school shop earlier this year. It is holding up really well for all of the use/abuse it gets every day. I did have to take it apart once to tighten up the motor bolts, but since then it has been running just fine.

    it has the upgraded knurled quick clamp on the blade clamp. The bellows and dust blower are missing. Not a deal breaker, but could save you a few bucks. The bellows tend to get cracks and wear out long before anything else, most of us just ignore it and get an aquarium pump.

    I think that the Hegner is pretty user friendly. With a little research here on the forum you could be up and running pretty quickly.

    One thing I can recommend about d1/4 sheet sanders is to try putting sandpaper on before you buy it. Last week I found one in the back of a cabinet at school covered in the wrong type of dust It didn't take me long to figure out why it had been forgotten, the paper clamping is super awkward. It took me several minutes and more than a few tries to finally get paper on the stupid thing (I was at school so no naughty words or throwing the stupid thing)

    I'd say order a dozen and try them out. Blades are nice because they are typically cheap enough that a dozen won't break the bank too much to test out, and if you don't like them you only have 12 on hand.

    I think that I added them to the pattern library. Thanks for the reminder, I am a bit surprised I hadn't done that yet. @Runa If you have other things in mind let me know. I have made a bunch of jewelry and would be happy to talk you through it or help make some new patterns.

    I found them!!! Most of these I made as pendants, but you can make them a bit smaller for earrings. It is a bit surprising how light weight wooden jewelry can be. The line on the top is the middle. Drill a hole to attach a jump ring or bail. The pdf called Necklaces, is an article I wrote a few years ago about jewelry making pieces and how they work. Also, never underestimate a simple shape with pretty wood. Some of my favorites are not the most intricate. I would be happy to help if you have any questions.     I have made quite a bit of jewelry, but don't have patterns on my current computer. I will try to get the old one up and running and share them with you.

    Many people like it. it gives a different angle to view the blade, and some like that. Myself, I couldn't get used to not having a flat table and went back to flat.
