  1. Use to get them all now i get none except the AAW which I am a member. Trying to figure out a way to sell off tons of magazines I collected over the years. They became a waste to me the plans in the scrollsaw mags did not interest me and were too plain and easy. Not for seasoned scrollers and they started to get too much intarsia. Woodworking mags are all about ads. they all do the same tool reviews. You can find these things out on line these days. I highly suggest find a store that sells mags and buy ones that have something in that interest you. They get hard to store after awhile. I have an attic full.
  2. This is cool. I love these simple things. Has to be easy to scroll. Cool video. On my list and yes I too hope our designers can come up with some neat patterns.
  3. I almost bought it too but was not sure about the file thing. Melanie sure cleared a few things up. Now I will watch what you come up with. I do want to make these and hope others jump in and design something different too. It is a great and different idea. Thanks all.
  4. You are not a criminal. You shown a finished product of their kit just like any other person here that shows in the bragging page a finished product. The thing is they are selling the files to make these. It is just like selling a pattern. Then you should be able to sell the finished product. You are not selling the files. Just like you are not selling a pattern.
  5. Where did you get the pattern from?? If you know of pattern designers over there that we might be interested in then that is fine to post their links here. We will get to the bottom of this. These have to be available somewhere. From what I see they are all coming out of Russia and are laser cut. They are such a simple pattern and easy project to make. I am guessing it will be a matter of time they show up from one of the pattern makers with many designs. From what I see there are about 4 or 5 different designs now. They are selling the kits and you paint them anyway you want so I am not sure about the grey area here of copying.
  6. To me it looks like you are buying the files.
  7. That looks like the 3 that are available. Now the question is what does this mean?? I do not have a laser. Will these come up as a scrollable pattern http://Thank you for visiting our store. For sale is laser cut vector plan. Plywood Napkin Holder Digital product includes --- AI, EPS, CDR, SVG, DXF --- files.
  8. I am guessing those are a take off of these http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=lady+napkin+holders
  9. Very nice clocks indeed. I too make the wolf clock in various versions and I use the wolf insert and they do well. Evidently there is a wolf collector group out there. The photo is not too clear but the ones on the bottom of the page. You may want to try including themed inserts and doing some different inserts. Could help in sales. The praying hands clock I use the praying hand themed insert. It does mean more you would be surprised. When I sell the horse clocks I sell with horse insert and have had comments they love the insert because it goes with the theme. Just a suggestion.
  10. It is very easy to see. Mainly the way the napkin is folded and you need to find colorful ones. But there are tangs that the napkin fits between around the waste line. They are probably cut and attached like a tung and groove set up. If the patterns were available for sale is what I am after. I do not want to steal someone's idea by reverse engineering it.
  11. Now that is cool. Anyway we can get patterns for things like this???
  12. Scott I do believe the craft circuit will always be there and maybe at some time even make a complete circle and become overwhelming popular again. Things have a way of repeating themselves. Thanks for the kind words. Can I do the ebay thing and etsy, I am certain I can and can do well am certain of that too. I sell items that are distinct and not found in stores or even on ebay or etsy. I have looked many times through some of the vendors on these sites and yes they sell scrolled items but mine are more than just scrolled. I just do not want or need to do all that work again. I have been down the sellers lane before and did my thing. I leave that for people like Kevin now who love doing the web site sales. I preferred as you mentioned to talk to my customer face to face. You keep a pulse of what is current. You get ideas and make new friends that follow you from show to show. Pick up an occasional sale through word of mouth. That is the way I grew into this hobby and will exit the same way.
  13. Just a joke Brad http://www.sportsmans.com/shooting/handguns/kahr-cw40-pistol/p/1137045 Rolf asked what a CW40 was. I edited that post you read to include the scrollsaw name just like I am editing this post too.
  14. I think he takes it out and shoots it. That is the Hitachi saw he is talking about I am guessing.
  15. Just about all points were touched in why wood jumps when cutting. Too slow of speed, to hard on pushing especially tight corners, blade type and choice, thickness of material. One other possible cause because you do not mention the saw is too aggressive setting of cutting action. Maybe the saw can be adjusted and maybe not. The old 2 speed dremels were a culprit of this.
  16. All things I have seen mentioned are things anyone can add themselves. The vendors start doing all these things the price is going up. You can do them much cheaper. There are so many saws out there that it would be impossible to find one that does not fit your needs. Just have to have the money for the upper commercial models. The vac system is probably the one item that all saws should have built in but would take some engineering to make complete and useful and not to intrude with cutting. Tough to do because you need both top and bottom vac to be efficient.
  17. None I am happy with my RBI saws they way they are. Best saw on the market in my opinion.
  18. That looks good. I was looking for other color ideas instead of all one color. Gives me a few ideas now. Thanks for showing.
  19. Is that a pattern that is available somewhere?? That came out well. Thinking I would like to do that.
  20. There was another version out there that I tried to get a copy of but never did. I may have to open that topic up again if I can find the photo. It is actually pretty cool and I believe it too was a Steve Good plan.
  21. I would design something that you can saw head on. It will be tough on your neck and back if you scroll to the side. The RBI stand is a nice starting point. Good luck.
  22. Like me Kevin I never took photos of many things I made over the years until I started posting to forums when I got a computer. I use to take photos to make a album and used that to show clients. Lot different today. If I had to show some 800 + items I would shoot myself. I dig them out when things come up and may warrant a shot to show them. Yes customizing things make them more yours too so I like that and that is why I do it. That is why many times I will ask for a pattern here but my thoughts are to add or subtract things so it is not exactly what I asked for. I can improvise a few things but drawing things is not a thing I do well.
  23. When I first started I would spray paint the blade end a different color and kept a chart. Long abandoned that now it is knowledge if i am not sure I will not use it on a delicate piece and save for something random and not critical But you learn real quick to keep better care of the second thing that is important in this hobby and that is the blades after the saw.
  24. Well Kevin I hope you do not take this the wrong way but must say this is one of your more creative ideas. It fits the theme and takes the pattern a step up. I always believe when you do things like this it shows your creative side and people do zone in on that. It makes this project complete as opposed to just the rack with the clock. I would like to see you do this kind of stuff more often. Open up and get creative. You obviously have the talent. Now you will probably say that it takes more time. Yes but that same clock would only sell for half that price without the table. You can justify a larger asking price when details like that are added to a basic clock pattern. Just a thought.
  25. I have this type pattern done by someone else but would have to look it up as to who it may be. That is nice too. Now I see the rack and am guessing you added the table as your own design Kevin??
