  1. thank you Matthew. I am in the process of ordering the Loc line and will let you know if that quiets it down everything seems tight but will run the tubing for leaks. since hooking the one from the Dewalt to the Ex results in no noise and vice versa the opening needs narrowing. thanks for the link
  2. Well Frank I liked the tiger wood. Unfortunately I do not always see colors a as others do. I am not totally color blind but do have trouble with getting colors right. Browns are green to me for instance. But because I can make it out and know I am right I like the Black. Thanks for sharing the dragon flies well done.
  3. I am posting for practice. This is the results of the ex 21 with out the Loc-Line. It is nice to know I can share pics now that I have a system.
  4. Sorry I knew pictures needed but I do not do well posting photos and until now have never been able to. I did have 2 pics and could only do one but that is a start. I will see if I get more photos including the EX I will try putting more up. right now I am just winging it. Keven thanks for the link. I will see what I can find. cross your fingers that I can figure out how I posted this one.
  5. Back ground; I have a Dewalt 788 and probably 20 years ago I ran across a dust collection system made specifically for the Dewalt. It was made by a gentleman in Indiana where I lived at the time. It was patented etc. I have had it installed on my scroll saw for the 20 years and it is wonderful. So I decided when I added the Ex 20 to my shop I could do the same with it. Problem is the man who developed the one I have I do not think is made any more it was a very local market and the gentleman has since passed away some time in the 20 years. I decided I could make one for the Ex I the same style and have done pretty good. Now the problem the hose I used is a sump pump hose 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 inch. All went well and have the hose doing the bottom and top and looked good just like the other. The difference is the Dewalt designed one uses vacuum hose same size and had a narrower nozzle top and bottom with a 1/2-3/4 inch opening. I can not find these nozzles. The are snap segments like the blower tube but bigger. Thought would be OK with the open end of the hose positioned to clear the top and bottom. Well turn on dust collector and it sounds like an Elk in the wild who was just rejected by two of the lady Elk at breeding time. That is loud if your right next to the saw or even in the house. Any thoughts please let me know. I am not real Mechanical or engineer like man but think could it be the hose opening is too big and I need to find a way to narrow it. Thank you for your help. Sorry so long.
  6. IMHO Fret work is when you go to work sawing on thin wood making several inside cuts and you clench the butt tightly fretting it will break at any minute.
  7. The thread here was interesting. But the best part to find out I am not the only one contradicted by a wife. Dan thanks I now have a warm feeling in my heart that I am not the only one.
  8. I too agree with John and Dan, I would have the same look of the wood when I routed. Biggest help was getting a table, Smaller amounts of routing at a time and sharp bit. May take longer but worth the time. I too have a heavy hand and get hurried I figure when I get older I will get better.
  9. Yes the club meets once a month there at 6. I plan to attend after the first of the year. I have known about it but have been getting things set up here after move and it seems as I get older going out at night doesn't happen like it used to but I will make it. They also are at the klingspor store Weds morning doing demos.
  10. Sorry Roberta busy season missed your post and question. I am in Winston Salem.
  11. Hope it works well for you because your now "Stuck" with it.
  12. Happy for you. Merry Christmas. You are Done for the year Right. So snuggle in your bed for a long winters nap wake up in time for the Easter Bunny.
  13. Way to go Ike. I am happy for you. Merry Christmas
  14. Hey Ray I knew I had filled out profile maybe, I checked and it is except I moved over 2 years ago and am no longer in Indiana but in North Carolina. Glad no body wanted coffee they would never find me to share a cup some morning.
  15. Thank you for the remembering the veterans. It was a honor to have served. 1971 to 1983 Army Nurse corps. Continued as civilian and reserve at Fort Harrison in Indiana.
  16. Looks great I can see why you did well. I never had a spread that big when I was going to shows. I need to get back at it. Not done anything since moving last couple years. New state new things to learn. Your work stands out
  17. I did get the pegas clamps from them for both my dewalt and seyco. I had the same difficulty that when I ordered the second clamp as with the blades I ordered the second one it showed as a second one of what I had ordered and charged accordingly. I do not remember what I did but I was able to order one with lever tension and one without. But when first few times of ordering even when I selected one and then the other I would show up as ordering 2 of the same one. Like I said I don't know how I manged to get it right but had both in 2 days.
  18. Thanks Ray I will keep that in mind.
  19. I wish to add my condolences and will be praying for your family as you work through your time of grief. I have had depression issues for last 20 plus years. Definitely Family, friends and medication keeps me on an even keel. Scroll sawing and visits here are a big part of keeping me to much fewer down days.
  20. Welcome back Ron glad you health is returning.
  21. I have over the years purchase a little. Mainly I have had friends and wood workers who had wood left overs and like money if some one asks if I might be able to use it I say yes. I met a Doctor who in the 70s harvested from his wooded land to build a regular size Barn to store and work on his John Deere tractor Collection He had 10 when I met him about 2000 but took He did not know I was interested in wood working for a bout 10 years later when he saw some of my scroll sawing work and noticed I was dumpster diving in the parking lot. They were renovating the hospital and were throwing out 2 inch Oak rails doors and thinner base board. He invited me to his barn to take some of the wood he was not going to use and since he used to build large projects maybe I could use some of the wood he wouldn't. So he had a lot of walnut some oak birch and cherry so this is what I have been using since. Rough sawn but had a band saw and planner. For a project I either find a pattern and see if I got a piece of wood to fit or I pick a piece of wood and find a pattern to fit.
  22. Good Idea for this. Thats what I like about ACE they usually have someone who knows what I am talking about even if I don't.
  23. I usually will shut it off if plugged in or not. You do loose air over time and go to use it and it is empty. Usually I use it in spurts so fill and keep filled but open the plug to let air out and drain leaving it open so water drains. I had my dad's years ago that he gave me and it did have condensation and ended up with a rusted hole in the bottom. of course when I he gave it too me it was over 30 years old and I used it for another 5 or so years.
  24. Thanks Ray now I got how it works with Dewalt. I go back and forth between the two saws and muscle memory is true I never know to turn or push and release.
  25. I think I am about to get clamps for my Ex and the dewalt wouldn't hurt either. I am confused with the Dewalt since it is tensioned up front ( like the little girl who wants to know if mom wash dishes before what does the dishwasher do. With the Dewalt if you get the lever what would the lever do?
