  1. Maybe he is beak heavy or Butt light. If I were you I would get a Bud Light and relook at the issue.
  2. I have cut plexi years ago and found using small blade, low speed and I used Duck tape to put on the plexiglass and glued pattern to that. This seemed to keep the melting to minimum and when tape taken off plastic dust came of with it and was on the top of the tape mostly. Sloan's was where I got the information for cutting plexiglass. Not sure if it is still on their sight.
  3. Boy I haven't been there in years. In the beginning I used to get regular mailings from them. May need to check it out again. Still have some of their patterns.
  4. Sir prayers will continue for you, your family, and neighbors, We were fortunate in this area but very concerned until it passed. Our Aunts evacuated from Myrtle beach, 5 sisters ages 72 to 93 . They were not going to leave but family talked them into going to kids to in SC. they are all back home and getting settled in again. We have friends with relatives in the Wilmington area and they had a time of it. iggy good to here your update. Hope you get back in soon.
  5. Sorry you are not finding it. I just looked up the pattern in my files and it has Gayle's name and date on it. So figured it would still be in the Archives.
  6. I do not flit I suffer from ADWW ( Attention Deficit Wood Worker) I kind of will work on one thing lose interest then move to something else etc. Actually can finish three different things on the same day but may have started them all 2 weeks before. What can I say it works for me. Also will work in orders should they come along but then can focus since I will get paid so I can continue my hobby. I have tried many remedies but none seem to work well, chewing on tooth picks helps some.
  7. Well OPi I have cut that about 3 times for family and it is neat and I have the pattern but do not remember who did it. since Florance came to town my stuff is put up and hopefully out of the water should it rise. I will let you know when I can get it out again. Sorry for delay You will find this at the Scrollers Café It was done by Gayle in 2010. Check Pattern archieves Nature/horses and should be able to find it.
  8. I have done this and when I start seeing myself drifting off line and making small errors I quit take a break which may be until the next day. The only thing worse I think is work long hours on a intricate fret work, finish it , looks great only to drop it from hands and crash to the cement floor. But as my Grandmother was fond of saying Such is Life. Never made me feel any better.
  9. I saw the show on TV but they didn't interview you I waited but no iggy. Maybe a tie next year.
  10. Ray nice work. I will give you an idea of keeping track of time. I did for a time when I first got started keep track of time because everybody liked the work and asked HOw long did that take. So I had a foot switch for the saw and used a triple plug on the saw and switch and a electric clock. The clock would stop and go when the foot switch was depressed. Problem is to remember to write it down before diving into the next project. I stopped that and do what others have said. Sorry but on real involved work you won't get a good hourly wage anyway.
  11. Sorry I know I have seen it possibly recently but my forgetter out does my rememberer. May gave been In Scrollsaw Woodworking.
  12. Sorry Marg but as a comedian years ago used to say Beauty is skin deep but ugliness goes all the way to the bone. So maybe ugly wood is better since it looks that way all the way through and you know what you got. But it probably doesn't mean the same with wood.
  13. Yes that can happen but the skills are still there just have to reinstruct the body parts to do what the brain says once more.
  14. I use any wood that may be on hand. I prefer Walnut, Oak red or white, cherry. I have been blessed with good older friends who know someone wanting to give wood they have away. Some have built a home and took down the extra trees milled them and were stored but not going to use them. Been known to do some dumpster diving. because I do like free. I will use the box stores if have too but not too much
  15. Edward, praying or speedy recovery. I had left knee done and like you didn't skip baay. Since I use a foot switch hen I have the right done no sire if wiill be a little longer. My surgeon then said starting to see replacements as same day surgery.
  16. Hey less you might look at a donut cushion. It is a padded circle with a hole in the middle. Used to be used cysts on the butt at the top for the crack but works pretty good in for general butt pain.
  17. I think you did a brilliant job on this one. No need of the hat however that is an important part of who she is.
  18. I have been using Dewalt ROS have had more than 10 years got it at Rockler on sale as a refurbished sander. It is variable speed and I have been more than pleased with it. I have replaced the hook and loop pad once and replaced the cord once. Well actually twice the first time was from use the outside cord cover was showing wire. The second time we moved and smarty that I am I put the sander in with the tines of a small tiller. Guess how many holes were cut in the cord not all the way through and did work with out shock but decided needed to replace. Both time ordered from Replacement and installed.
  19. Thanks Scott for other possibilities I will look into those for future concerns
  20. Thanks for the in put. I was able to contact Dana Hart and he did have pine got a board which I will resaw since it is 2 inches and plain to 1 inch. Very nice gentleman.

  23. Any one where to find a c!ear on both side 1 inch thick. I found select pine board at Lowe's and others. All of course 3/4 inch. Customer needs it 1 inch ready to add to end of crib so would like it smooth and redy to go. He is in Indiana where I did work for him before I moved to NC. I finished the name he wants but not the board. I am really to ship the name and see if he can find someone in Indiana for the board. The shipping would be a lot !ess thanks

  25. use a rubber stamp of a hand saw that has hand crafted by over the top and then sign the blade with name. Have seen by art years later and the stamp is still there and readable.
