  1. The dust is OK I have a coffee cup that says sawdust is man glitter. Wear it proudly and that is how I got named Grampa Sawdust.
  2. I just got a square and used my debt to test it. I did not swipe it the right way so it came up did not take and to input card number which I did. It went through alright and a dollar was taken out. It did not occur to me that it would cost a charge and the higher amount since it was entered manually. I got 81 cents placed back in my checking account who knew a test could not be free.
  3. Those came out great. The kids will remember these and you for ever
  4. Might do the key chains with hugs instead of their names with clay. Or that may be what you meant.
  5. I use weldbond also and works well fo me. I get it at the Education Center store here I think not quite the same price but a little lower and of course no shipping. I am about to run out so will remember to check prices again. I also found if something is glued and needs to be moved it can be loosed carefully either with hair dryer or Microwave. The main thing is do not rush it but sometimes it will not let go.
  6. I had a 10 x10 shed which would not do it for me. I have a shop in the attached 2 car garage which has grown over the years. I now share the garage with my wife's care. Washer and 'dryer, hot water heater, water sofener. pump furnace that leaves me with about a third of the garage. Wheels and imagination makes it work. That and a 16x20 shed out side the garage for wood storage and room for yard tools. Picked up thrown out kitchen cabinets to store things on the walls and use of shelfing. Have a 14 inch band saw, small home made table saw, Jet Midi lathe, ex 21 and dewalt scroll saws. jet dust collector on ceiling and on the floor to hook to machind used. Sander, osacilating and belt and disc 2 bench drill press. Like I said wheels and shelfing is required. Hope to move someday to have a separate shop but not a HOA
  7. that sounds like a match made in heaven. If you wait a bit I am looking at a possible move to NC I could help if you get bogged down.
  8. I have 10 wood projects going which I work on between mowing, tilling, planting weeding and so on. I get bored easily so need things I can flit from one to the other.
  9. Hey Dick have a nice time wear sun screen, don't swim with fishes that can eat you and stay out of trouble. You are doing this just right because when you get back my wife goes off for 2 weeks. So I get a whole month of half the nonsense I ususally have to put up with between you and my wife. just kidding don't tell my wife. Have fun
  10. "I do not like peanut butter" Now that's a good quote Frank
  11. I do better hands on and being shown. I found opening inkscape on one side or in one screen then the tutorial in the other side or another screen. I watch a couple steps then got to my inkscape that is open and do it also. After many times doing this I did get a better grasp of what I was doing. Not necessarily real good at it but good enough to get started.
  12. I have attempted the chess Checker set but never could get the drawers on either side fixed to work. the squares were not square enough for me so after I got the to done I desided to cut squares of Maple and rosewood and glued on top of the ones shown in Pic. I then just put fixed oak on the ends and a little decoration. That was years ago and I may try again some day now that I am more experienced. My opinion this is done well and the amount of work required in it is worth the price if anyone has need of one.
  13. I was quoted 250 for a Dewalt at the store.
  14. How do I know which version for the PC. I have Windows 10 and always was confused on whether to load bit 32 or 64. What would you suggest. Thank you for your help. I suppose it is not terrible to not have bird but it is nice but my fonts in Inscape other than Chopin Script are not script fonts. Chopin is more quite involved and not easily made for cutting. Takes time to make bridges and rid some of the large scrolling script.
  15. Well made an error and down loaded the new version of inscape. Thanks to tutorials and the help from here I was able to use the last version. At first I could not get the script Birds of Paradise font to load in the inkscape and did not have luck with others either. Then I for some reason downloaded the earlier version 47? and had the 91 loaded at the time. After that the script showed up in both those versions and I did make 6 plaques Yeah. now that I went ahead and loaded 92.1 It is gone again. in all versions. I uninstalled everything and waited 3 days then downloaded 3 other script fonts and the Bird of Paradise was still in my Open Office and the others were also present. after down loading the script fonts remained missing in inkscape still in Open Office. BOP is in a zip file but I am not sure if it is opened or not and not sure how to do it if it isn't. fonts are coming from Dafont. Any thoughts. I should have left well enough alone. I don't know what I did when it showed up before other than download the older version. I will just use the block fonts I have . Thanks
  16. I have purchased Dewalt orbital sander and trim size router refurbished. I am happy with them and the price. I wore out the disc pad on the sander and have replaced it without problem.
  17. Sorry for all the trouble. I noticed on mine early last summer that the cap was off the fuse but it was working. I didn't like it open like that and so ordered a new fuse assay. the number of the part had been changed I was told at the dewalt service center and they ordered if for me. the main reason I had them order it is because then I did not have shipping. the part was around 10 bucks. It was 3 weeks to get it in. I called and found out the order was not placed and then it was another week. Went to take the old one out but could not get it out. The fuse was fine it was running. I took the whole machine down to the center when I went to pick up the part so the service man could show me how. Well he got the old one out alright and when he went to put the new one (free) so I let him. He found out that they had not only changed the number of the part but changed the design and size of the part. He had to take the machine apart to get to the wiring and when done the assay was too small and sort of hung out of the hole it should have snapped in. I had him change it back and have black tape over the opening and it is running fine. He also thought my motor was dead because it would run a while then stop and when set a while work again. But with the motor at about 250 dollars I was not going to do that. I got the machine for 300 on sale. Well it is still running so I will keep working with it and I have a Ex 21 as well. Knock on wood.
  18. I would be interested in your building and how things fit. I am considering a move and would like to know how big a shop I can get a way with. Now I am set up in about a 1/4 of a 2 car garage. I did not think of having a limit on size in your back yard. Well may not happen anyway. Hope your URI improves quickly. Just remember better out then in so plenty of tissues, drink lots of fluids, and Chicken soup.
  19. thanks for the comments gentlemen. Jerry in your case I use the term loosely. I may do the same. I know with the 0.91 I tried to load the bird of paradise which was a no go for some reason. then I downloaded the .48 for giggles and the font showed up in both. Not sure what that was all about. will try the .92 and see. I too have had limited use but have found it pretty good. Thanks for the tutorial who ever makes them they help.
  20. I use the 0.91 and just noted the 0.92 and was going to ask the same question between those. I am still a novice on the inkscape but learning. Made a few patterns nothing earth shatering.
  21. Jeff thanks for posting. I think it looks fine and will be well received I am sure. I made a stand for a IPhone using that pattern and modified for size. A request from a co worker so she could work on the computer and other desk things and still talk with her emplyees and her boss. Worked well for her. I do not have a camera or even a photo program so unfortunately no photo posting. would be nice to get feed back. Keep posting.
  22. All righty then. must be pretty nice band saw. He is talented no bout a doubt that.
  23. Caught up on the posts in this thread. It looks like the Chat room is mute other than Elvis. I'm slow at typing and reading so I usually stay out of chats.
  24. The names bill gave and the book would be my go to as well. there are others I have a couple books of inspirational patterns don't remember author off the top of my head. Those are a delicate to cut. Also may look at patterns done by Spielman there may be some from him.
  25. Isn't that the football game at the Lady GAGA concert
