  1. I have done many of the same things. I have used construction paper cut to size, poster board, felt, plywood painted etc. I usually did put them in a frame with or without glass and not glueing but then the back of the frame would not fit back on. I have decided I like it without the glass whcih helps with the fit of the back. Portraits don'e seem to sell well around here so I don't do them much any more. The issue I had with felt is little particles stick to it easily and dust or airborn things so don't use that anymore. I have had better luck selling with use of the bass wood rounds with bark on and the portrait centered. works good with animals but people are fine also. I do glue a 1/8 or 1/16 in backer on it to hide the back. Just some of my thoughts. Like most things just comes down to personal preference and what customers or friends like.
  2. I used to use BLO on baltic birch any way but I just did not like the darker sorta yellow finish and use clear acyrlic or laquer like Mrs N I like the look much better. It is a personal preference.
  3. Len what does wop stand for. I don't remember seeing that term
  4. Hey looks like you have a full wardrobe to select from. Even one outfit with crack up.
  5. I think everyone have good ideas. I think the main thing is to not hurry it but put it away remember where it is and in time something will fit right in. I have held on to special wood up to a year and then bingo there is the pattern.
  6. I would think it would cut OK. did you try a different blade to see if the same thing happens. If it is cutting that far off check that it is not upside down. check that tension is right. check the blade is 90 degrees to the table. Let the blade do the cuting.
  7. let us know how it works out
  8. I know some do but not which ones. Should find on a google domestic wood properties
  9. I have used some like that but I haven't bought any blades other than flying Dutchman in years and they were in a bag I had put old unknown blades. So I guess i am saying I have not clue
  10. I have 2 full size routers a craftsman old one gift from my dad and a porter cable in table always. I started out with a rotary tool and router bits dermal and sears used to make but do not see them any more. I use a trim router Dewalt got it on refurbish sale and have not had trouble with it at all. I think the choice of what to use depends on your fear level. like was said the table is safer. I have used the trim router on what you are talking about it does good just watch fingers, toes and hands. I don't try to take the whole amount at first pass It seems to work out nicer.
  11. I don't know if I could pedal back words like that

  18. I have mine in a third of the attached garage which depending how you look at is part of the house. Wife would say part of the house since the dust seems to be tracked into the house. The other 2/3 of garage is for MaMa's car of course and all things must be in their place so that the car fits at the end of the day.
  19. sorry to hear about having to slow down again. I go for knee replacement on the 11th. Not sure I am ready but i need to move without pain. Had rotator cuff surgery a few years ago went pretty well. Not a replacement but definitely your will not be using that arm if they need to do it for a while. Like with the knee slow and easy and do what they tell you to.
  20. the word art i usually sell at $35 Have sold 4-5 at Christmas. Haven't tried making my own yet
  21. Awesome job Alex. Can I come out and play at your house and learn some stuff. I'll bring the snacks. Really well done Alex. math is not a problem I assume
  22. Berry I do have the stand with Ex21. I am not sure but I thought the feet could be lowered or left high and you could look at that and see if there is an adjustment. My legs aren't working so hot right now or I would get off my bottom and go look. I just thought I had seen it was possible. I will check more later. I used to have the stand set lower in front on my dewalt and when I got the ex 21 i liked that flat so much I changed the dewalt to flat also.
  23. Depends on size of the scrap. If big enough I may use for turning pen, bird house, or some can be cut to size for 3D scrolling. Likt the bird houses and some of the smaller makes the birds to go on the perch. pretty thin wood works for book marks, and some pieces may fit in with Intarsia
  24. Get these done and it may be a summer olymic sport. I play yatze often and it is fun. May need to make some for picnics.
  25. I started using loctite spray after not being able to find what I was using. The spray i get is 200 and works well for me. some let go but tape down with clear tape and get it cut out. i used the 100 but that did not stay put at all. the 200 holds better i know there is a 300 but afraid I would be like you not able to remove it.
