  1. Just curious how many trys and views of the tutorials did you, who are like me not computer able other than forumns and that is a brain strain. I am most interested on the last name with first name in side of that. Travis the tutorial is great but I just seem to miss something. along the way and it falls apart. I am not complaining just wondered if I am the only one who is not quite getting it on the many trys I have made. I will keep trying until I get it,
  2. Thank all the designers for the work on this book. I had not seen it in other years but glad I was more awake this year. They are just wonderful.
  3. What is the lube for the Nylon tensioner about. Doesn't that cause it to release easy when scrolling?
  4. Kevin It is all right that you did not get the pictures. I know what puzzles look like and Reindeer as well. But I will expect Pictures in the next post like and hour from now. Don't you make me come down there.
  5. Thanks for the input. Keven I had not heard of Aquatrol before I will look into it.
  6. thanks for the input. I will check with the customer again but she mentioned it will be out in open sided shop but I am not certain. Spar sounds good use sometimes.
  7. I have been to asked to make a Man Cave sign for someone in Florida where it will be in humidity most of the time. What wood or finish would you suggest to use. I usually use oak, walnut or cherry but ondered it Cedar of some other wood could be a better choice. Thanks
  8. I use the dead man switch. Actually have one on each of my saws and alternate between the two so I don't wear either of them out. Well that is the hope anyway. also if you put the saws close to each other there is a pedal for each foot and you can scroll on both saws at the same time. NOT REALLY don't try that stack cutting is safer and more acurate.
  9. I have a Dewalt 788 #2 which is my second Dewalt. I noticed the cap on the fuse assay had disappeared and I went to order one but the part number changed I order under the new part number and had to order the entire assay with fuse. It is all one piece. I could not figure out how to change it and went to Dewalt store for tech to show me. Well you have to take the side off and then when you plug it in it does not fit in the out side hole where the cap was because it is too small. so I now have the old one in so it is not hanging out and covered it with black electrical tape to keep dust out so far it is working. I ordered the part at the store because having it delivered there was without shipping where from another source the shipping was a few cents less than the part. So far working but I do think the motor is the issue it is stopping when used for awhile. since the motor is about 250 and I got this on sale for a little over 300 I guess it is not cost effective to replace.
  10. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Here having coffee quietly before the grandkids wake up and the noise and activity starts up. Thankful to be in NC with family.
  11. did you think of getting a pedal operated scroll saw of old. That should keep you a little warmer and thinner at the same time
  12. After 9/11 initially there was many patterns some free some not. There were some where the picture was copy writed. One of the flag raised by the fireman on site was put out free quickly but with copywrite there was withdrawn after photographer pointed out it was his. It was taken off the sites that had it.
  13. I am a little confused which happens easily anymore. Are you making a cradle for like a doll and your brother is making a regular size cradle for a actual baby and he is going to copy your design. I would think google would direct you to doll cradles and I have found and made those. For a big one and your brother will take your lead and make his pattern to the right size. I have made Baby cradle for my daughter who has 4 kids and she loaned it to her sister who has 2 kids and it has survived nicely. I had to make a couple more for friends as well. I found a company that precuts the wood needed in either cherry or oak etc to approximate size and then it is up to you to cut to size comes with all hardware. It was not too bad but for me that was great since I did not have many good good accurate tools for planning, cutting Came with full plans and back up if you called. I can not remember the company right now. My oldest grandson will be 17 in December so it has done well. Right now it is setting in a spare bedroom I guess for great grand kids. I am sure the price is up from years ago. Sorry for running on answer probably nothing that you asked.
  14. at least if your pots and pans need scrubing your ready.
  15. My EX has the same look lots of scratches and has not affected anything. Wax is used and no problem. My Dewalt also looks the same as the EX. Figure it is the blade changing and feeding from top not hitting the hole with out trial and error sometimes. My name is Dan and i approve this message.
  16. As you all know Ray is great on service and knowledge. I emailed him and expected to hear from him this week but he sent a answer back within an hour or less. needed Pics of the problem are in the top arm and I was able to send those and he has given me possible fixes for it. I contacted him Sunday night and I had the answer this afternoon. It would have been faster but I was doing things around the house and not checking email frequent and I had trouble sending the pics or I think we would have had an answer with in 45 minutes. Can't beat his service.
  17. I am sorry I can't help you I am in the Midwest USA, I do have a Ex 21 and have been happy with this
  18. I did have the Coyote original. At the time it was a direct download and I did do that. I used it and was after some practice I was able to make portraits of grandkids and were not bad at all. However my computer crashed and that program was lost. I did not reorder and am working on learning inkscape for now.
  19. What ever the tension your work is awesome.
  20. Hey dan,,,, What does it attach to? Drill press? Hand drill? Larry I use a drill press with very good results. I do have a dremel and a Craftsman want to be dremel and have not tried mini mops may give that a try too.
  21. I have been using a sanding mop for the last several years and love it. Using 220grit It is a 6 inch I think. I use it on all my scrolling and other things, The more fragile the lighter the touch. But I like it.
  22. thank you gentlemen I will save in in my email
  23. This is crazy but I just would like to send a email to Ray and ask a few questions. Calling is difficult to get the time when it would not be interrupting. When I click on email us my computer has to know what I want to mail it out of and when I put in my mail it says not sync with mail. I do not know how to get the address so I can just type it in and email. Anyone knows address please just PM me and I would be very thankful and will put it in my address book. Thanks
  24. I have not cut vinyl before but with Plexiglas I found a suggestion to put Duck Tape on first then the pattern and the melting was less and the speed was still slow but could go a little faster. Not sure if that would help.
  25. I use a drill press the same size as the HF but it is a Craftsman which I have had for years it even fell off the bench and the top now is crooked but it runs great and the chuck can hold the mini bits without trouble.
