  1. Nicely done. They are cut very sharply and look great. I should start doing a few now too. I have the wood that are the little longer cube size that just set around waiting for me to get them used.
  2. That is truely sad news. I had met him and Karen a couple times at picnic and he was a very open and freindly man easy to talk with in fact first time I met him I think we talked an hour about scrolling. I have always enjoyed cutting his patterns and always felt he made them with the scroller in mind because I could stay with the line and turns better than anyother pattern. He will be missed. I will offer my prayers for the family along with others.
  3. Wow! I just finally took the time to look at the many many pattens and we have have a village full of very talented people. I thank you all. If I need a pattern for something I know where to go. Thanks for your talent and best of all the willingness to share. Wow!
  4. Looks like a good Idea and will be sharp when you finish. Are you thinking of photos or wood protraits hanging on it.
  5. Gee I have had my newer model Dewalt and the light for about 2-3 years absolutely no trouble with the light. Of course it is still in the unopened box it came in. I use a magnifiing light and am very happy and so are my old eyes
  6. Looks great to me. do you play? I know not that one maybe.
  7. that is great not seen anything like it before. well done
  8. looks great she should like that. She can keep her sailing memories on it.
  9. Now that brings back memories. Hadn't thought of him in a long while. used to have many of his records thats right records. I will have to see if his music is on the net and listen again.
  10. Kevin that really looks great. I may have to get the pattern and see if I get a free hair cut. maybe get a train to cut out on it too. He is a train person and cuts hair in a Caboose and has electric trains to look and and watch under lock and key. Kids are not always as behaved as they used to . It may be worth a try
  11. That scene is great. It looks so good I got poison ivy it looks so good. gota go itch Later.
  12. I never have that problem. Lets see. an intarsia of a puppy in a boot, 2 band saw boxes, name sign for daughter, pen, scroll saw bowls 5 needing sanding, bird houses to turn, wood to plan, nice oak piece with bark to put the last supper on and cut Christmas ornamate. Nope never have that problem. Just start another project and try to finish it before getting back to the stuff not done who knows may have another one to add to the unfinished pile.
  13. Gary that is beautiful and I got to see it in person. I did not know about the contest but was there and saw all the great work and yours was there. Seeing it in person was well worth it.
  14. That is great Frank. I saw a pattern a long while back that had several faces in a tree, I thought it would be neat to cut it but I do not know where it was or who did it. Anybody know what I am talking about? Anyway Frank thanks for sharing and I will chech the gallery would love to cut that.
  15. Kevin now your warmed up stop by my house and you can help organize my shop. You do have a nice collection I want to come play at your house.
  16. Now all I need is 400 friends and stamps. All kidding aside that is really a common sense approach and doable but any one. I may do something like that just to get inventory down. I have only done 2-3 shows and now just make stuff but I am running out places to put them. I have started sending it to my Niece and she does craft shows and will sell it. She needs the extra money. I just charge her the shipping to here if she wants it.
  17. Luis, Looks like a nice machine. I think the table type you are looking at should be good to work with. As long as the lathe fits on it and is strudy should be good. I made one for my jet lathe out of a 2.5 inch solid very old door. Cut it to size used 2x4 for legs, put solid shelf on the bottom of the table for storing thins and made a shelf with holes on the front for the tools. Works for me. Not fancy but sturdy.
  18. Danny I bow down to you OH! wait I don't have to I am already down below you. I will just have to wait for may growth spurt again
  19. Larry the plumber is coming Weds. It is a long shut off to help prevent winter freeze and I think it has come appart mid way so no longer turns on or off. Just need a new part and smarts on how to replace..
  20. Started out not feeling so hot. Then noted the outside spicit was not working (no Water) which of course meant going under the house in the crawl space. Now mind you I am 6' 4" and well over 200lbs. Not a favorite thing. The pump wasn't running all the time but had to check. No leak which was great since I then can call a plumber not on a week end. From there things did improve. feel much better and thought I would plan some ruff sawn wood I was given uncertain what it was for sure other than free, Well it seems to be Oak and Walnut so far. not sure how I will use it yet. Had Ideas with the pieces with bark on the edges but some are wider than my planner. So now I have a lot of new Oak and Walnut to play with what ever I decide.
  21. i would just look close for floaters so when you cut it they don't fall out. make sure all is attached some how.
  22. I have 2 shop vacs one I don't want the other is OK noise is issue and as said above dust comes out the exhaust after a while. Had a junk of something come out today. I do clean the filter but that is the way of the beast. I would like a real dust collector but money and I don't think the electric would take it either. So for now the shop vac will do it.
  23. I am glad you posted that. I have a 8" craftman and the chuck hold all the drills too but the chuck is hard to work anymore even after soaking in oil and working it. Now I know the drill I might be able to go to. Mine runs fine even after falling off the bench and the head is crooked but they no longer make the chuck I tried getting one from Sears.
  24. I sawed for years on my first dewalt and continued with my second one. then got an ex 21 left it flat and kind of liked it that way so put the dewalt flar also. I may go back or may not. I do have the choice if I want. I think it is just up to the person, The big thing for me is that I am cutting something, standing sitting upside down just cutting something ............................... but not fingers tried it once not fun.
  25. That is a great work. I was looking to do something like that with Oak a frient has gvien me with the bark on in slab cut from tree. How big it the cutting length width wise. did you need spirals to get the ends?
