  10. In the June Creative Woodworks and Crafts Mr. Mak has a little picnic table and Adirondeck chair. the chair for napkins and the table to put your musturd and catsup or salt and pepper or what ever. I thought it was cute and made it. It was a fun project and can be finished in a week end. I choose to use walnut because I had several small 1 1/2 inch pieces so I thought way not use them up. I did it all on the scrowl saw. I think it went well.
  11. Adding my congratulations. I have 6 grandchildren now and love visiting when we can unfortunately the live 6-7 hundred miles away for 4 of them and the other 2 live in HI which is quite aways. Fortnately for them we have to do all the spoiling about twice a year maybe 3 times if they make it here. So all the spoiling is done all at once, Suggestions is boy or girl they seem to like the simple cars, trucks made out of like a 2x4, I have used a pattern from Steve Good that is a train with letters for the different cars to make their own train name. i make a little worm puzzle and gramma paints their name on it. They all still have the worm and display it to show friends. The 13 year old boy just this year asked if it was OK if he put it in a keep sake box he has for now. Making the little board puzzles with letters, animal or object shapes with different colors and shapes and animals is great learning thing. What ever you make have fun playing along with the kids.
  12. My chop is in one side of the 2 car garage. I do not use the furnace to heat the garage but the furnace and hot water heater for the house are in the garage on the other side. Haven't had trouble so far in 18 years. I do keep filters changed and have high efficient furnace.
  13. if my memory serves and as I age I find it serves less and less but since 1995 so 18 years
  14. I started about 17 years ago. I had seen the saws at different venues and always thougt that was neat but no time or money to start up. Then the budget cuts hit in the 90's and i found myself on one of the Posts to be closed with the re alinement. I was out of job with 11 mos short of drawing a retirement and thought well I find something soon. NOt. Anyways I found myself depressed and not moving of doing anything. I knew I had to do something to get myself motivated to do something bought a dremel and felt good making simple progects. Now I have a Dewalt and an Excaliber 21 and a lathe, bandsaw and planner. Make bigger and better things. All in all was the best thing that ever happened and found a job that paid double wha the Gov. paid.
  15. Those sure are purdy. What was used for the windmill. I did the same one but not as good and had breakage.
  16. Well the grass needed cutting but temp 92 or so humid and heat index of 100 or so. Had no choice but stay in the shop. It was bad because I could not find anythine ended up cleaning up. Well after 3 hours I managed to find the bench and vaccum a small area, now only have 3/4 of the shop to go. man I really ought to clean as I go. I know everyone has a clutter, dust free shop and know right where the tools are.
  17. Well who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I think there was not more than 2 I have done. look forward to trying the others. I use a magnifier light, I think it improves my acuracy.
  18. Sully since all you TRUILY wanted was the Cherry let me give you my address of better yet I will just stop by to get it just send me your address. That will solve your trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the wood.
  19. Jim those are awesome. Your technigue is not how I thought they might have been done.
  20. Roly if you start rowing now maybe just maybe I can pick you up on the way. What harbor would you be mooring at? I am going to consider it because I usually visit my dad in syracuse NY in the spring So I think I could shoot down to Lancaster and make a big around the block back to In. I will think on it.
  21. I might suggest you holder hand so she don't go shopping at least until she agrees to a tool compromise. Congratulations I am sure it will be of some help in some way.
  22. The Grandmother's will love them with the crafty look and the ease of putting them up on a fridge rather than a wall. I sure am glad our fridge has handles cause if they didn't stick out of the doors I would never find it and starve to death.
  23. Looks great Dan. The cabinets will help a lot. I did that with a few that someone redid their kitchen and since I would pick them up no charge for company to haul away. Win win. the only problem with them is they get full then you got to decide what must go and what must stay or get more cabinets then build a new shop Gee looks like it never ends. Enjoy your shop.
  24. name is grampa sawdust coming in form Free4all. Sully blew in my ear so I had to follow him anywhere. Not really but thought I may meet some old friends here. Thanks for having me Travis
