Hey thanks guy's and gal's for the nice comments. The person (John) receiving this as a gift to a great friend, he is an old rocker like me. I know I don't post a lot of my work only cause the work is mainly smaller things like ornaments and such. The first large cutting for a long time. ***Merlin***

Hi all Jimi Hendrix by Gayle over at the scroll Saw Cafe, cut by me. For a 70th birthday on the 30th July. Rimu ply from recycled door, the frame was made from unknown timber (white Pine I suspect). ***Merlin***

  13. Real nice thanks for the look sea
  14. That threw my idea out the window, Was trying to see the difference to usa oak. Cause I have been cutting bit of oak lately and I find it quite nice to cut. Because of the large oak species around the world I have never found out what species the furniture that came from England in the 1800's to NZ is/was. Oh well I might live long enough to find out one day. ***Merlin***
  15. Nice cutting Roly. ***Merlin***
  16. Paul that oak is it recycled furniture ie: headboards, cabinets, dressers and such. I have a theory but will explain later if what I'm thinking is correct. ***Merlin*** Ps: nice cutting by the way.

Very nice Paul, Personally I wood have used a #3 blade but that's just me. ***Merlin***
  21. Paul take the foot off and leave just the rod, and I have trouble with that big knob so got a hegner lever 100 times better. ***Merlin***
  22. Hi Paul I use a light oil like 3 in 1 but most of the time I use oil air tool oil. Here's the pic of my tattooed hand clamping the blade lever down while my fingers are around the foot rod, it just makes it easier to use the lever. ***Merlin***
  23. Paul very nice cutting will have to give it a go some time. On another note: I see you have the same saw as me, what I done with the hold down foot is I left the rod on the saw and just removed the foot , so when you are tightening the blade with your thumb your other fingers wrap around the rod for more control. If that sounds not right I'll post a pic later today. ***Merlin***
  24. Try to read all the comments it's interesting to know what other folk are saying. ***Merlin***
