Thanks for the replies people, I have a feeling that I may try a bathroom ceiling exhaust fan, they are designed for moisture so there for the motor must be well sealed and be able to cope with a wee bit of scrolling dust. Has anyone tried this type of fan with a filter. Cheers merlin

Nice stuff there V, That Inlace looks kool. Tried it and for some reason it don't work for me. Tried it on some key chains of Steve Good's, even after two days it could be pried out and the base was still soft. Any way you got it work. Merlin

My I get on this and ask a silly Q. You fellas and shella's talk about a box fan with a furnace filter, now are we talking about placing the filter on the back of the fan so to speak. A fan blows air so you's wood be having the filter on the back of the fan and the front of the fan wood be facing away from you so the area that you are sucking the dust from is in fact the back of the fan. Nice very nice Don't like TV trays but I suppose I could call it a bed tray. The epoxy resin you will be using could I have some info ie: name, where to buy cause I want to do something similer and don't know what to even start with, with epoxy resin's. oh and that deer cutting is great wood like the pattern, hint hint. Merlin

hey Mike, I use multiple colored holographic paper behind a lot of my cuttings. http://nzmerlin.multiply.com/photos/album/5#photo=4 And yes it does resemble a quilt, but by using paper instead of felt (it's thinner and don't hold the dust if no glass) and I place a full size sheet of plain paper over the quilt look and then put the back board on. hope that helps. My 1.5 cents worth is when veining drill the smallest possible hole at both ends, that way it looks like thats how it was designed to be. Another way is to cut the vein with say a #1 regular blade then follow that up with a #0 spiral blade, the spiral will open the vein up a little more (and will be easier to see) and it follows the already cut vein line well. I'm still experimenting with this, but it seems to work the way I want it to. ( for now). Merlin

You can not trust the postal service is this country to deliver to an overseas destination if not sent about the middle November. And the packaging in NZ is not Free, so I'm sorry I can't join in. Well Paul I don't use Birch Ply but then ply is ply.... Any way When drilling for blade insertion the best advise I can give is high speed and slow entry. Having it splinter while cutting don't have that problem, are you using a reverse tooth blade, if you are only cutting one piece at a time that will cause it to splinter, if so use a trow away piece on the bottom or cut two at a time (stack cutting) Or even three depends on the thickness of the ply. Made a tatie bin many years ago and did not put in holes, A week later the taties were starting to sweat. So I drilled large holes in the sides I think about 1-1/2 inch. Merlin
