Sorry bout the hair, but try a beard 12 inches from the point of the chin, mine got caught in a lathe, lucky it was on real slow and I manged to hit the STOP button before any damage to me or the lathe. Tie all hair up out of harms way ***Merlin***
  2. Well said Len, I joined when they just switched and it was by accident, but wood never leave the Cafe unless I was forced too. ***Merlin***
  3. E-Mailed Gayle her reply was as "We closed the door to the Cafe a couple of years ago - I don't have enough time to be there all the time to watch for spammers etc. With Connie on sabbatical - it is keeping me busy! I don't believe in being a member of anything, unless I can contribute in some way - and for that reason I don't belong to other sites. I try to answer any Emails - and if someone is interested in being a member of the Cafe, I have set up accounts for them, but they have to email me with the info - screen name etc. I don't have the time to leave the door open and try to weed through the 'undesirables' that always seem to slip past" Also "If you know someone who is wanting to join us - feel free to give them my Email and have them mark it ' the Scroller's Cafe - so it doesn't get bumped to the junk folder." I'm not putting her e-mail on the site if there are genuine people wanting to join I will sea what I can do No Promises And if there a rush No Chance. ***Merlin***
  4. The Scrollers cafe is not the Scrollsaw Workshop. I will write Gayle and sea why they not excepting more, I have pasted on her email to several people, but I have just seen this post. Please be patience. ***Merlin***
  5. Magic that don't work, tried it with the missus and she told me to give it back. ***Merlin***
  6. Susie: very nice indeed. One way too do an end grain board, is to have all the blocks cut the same size and have fun gluing up. It's a tedious job but the end result is well worth it. ***Merlin***
  7. Paul thanks for the patterns that you have done so far. I for one have a desire for NZ Bird Life, that I personally wish too do, if I can sell some so much the better, but as Kevin has stated money is tight and not many people buying. All my work is done on recycled timber/lumber and when I have to buy it it has to come from the cheapest sauce available. I have just brought 10 door panels 10 -12 inches in width about 2 foot long 1/2 inch thick at $2 a board, so I can do a few portraits of birds. But then I will take what ever you design if I think I like or can sell it. ***Merlin***
  8. Travis is correct with the Glue sizing I do it when I cut MDF and it works well. After you have painted the edges with the glue sizing leave over nite to dry then paint i n the normal way. Your guys white glue is Elmer's me thinks ours is PVA. ***Merlin***
  9. Sent you an Email ***Merlin***
  10. R u not a member of the The Scrollers Cafe, if not I'll email her for you. ***Merlin***
  11. The cutting was quite easy really it was held in place by two pieces, so was a bit flimsy in that respct. But nothing that a bit a tape couldn't fix. Thanks for the pattern I love van Gogh's work. Merlin
  12. Pattern by Vector01 Skull with Smoking Cigarette a van Gogh painting from 1885 I only temperately glued the skull to backer thus is why it slipped, the original was black background skull painted brownish color, didn't like that so left this one grey primer. Merlin
  13. I thought the missus said too wear it. LOL. Just kidding Nice job. Merlin
  14. I use white (cheap) painters tape cause I'm poor.LOL Then use a stick glue, works fine. But on the more delicate pieces I make sure I use the Blue (delicate) tape. Merlin
  15. That could be handy, providing I remember to write it down before I forget.LOL. Merlin
  16. My grandson was/is interested in scrolling (12) but at that age there are other wonderful things on a child's mind and Pop's always on the saw (hehe) Merlin

  21. I just use the printer options. First I "Save Image As' then go to where I saved it, double click the image/pattern, that takes me to Windows Photo Gallery, I then click CTRL-P to access the printer options, from there it's a matter of choosing what size etc, etc, etc. Hope that is of help. Merlin
  22. Now Travis that is not a good idea hmmmmm., because you wood only be able to cut curvy or wavy lines not straight ones Sorry Mr Tippy no real answer to your Q. Merlin
  23. Well I broke my ankle last weekend (some how), so shop time is limited. I have been standing while scrolling so when I do get back I may have to set a stool up to play around with one of Mr Sweets puzzles (opossum). Merlin
  24. Cut from Pine and the base is ceder Pattern Wooden Teddy Finished in polishing oil and wax Merlin
  25. 2cents worth here on spirals I can't seem to get used too them, So to do a wide vein I first cut with the usual/normal blade then use a 2/0 spiral to open the cut. The spiral just seems to follow the first cut, but be mindful don't let the consertration wander the spiral will get away from you. Merlin
