  15. Thanks everyone, will try Roly's idea that was what was going to try as a last resort.... but it's going to be the first me thinks. Have an art showing next weekend but after that will order some white and red oak filler.. (in case I need it for the future). Thanks again people. ***Merlin***
  16. Evening\morning people, a wee Q bout oak timber\lumber. I have been making a couple clocks lately out of oak (English Oak) I say English because before I got my mitts on it It was headboards for beds. Now the Q...Is there any oak in the USA that resembles my English oak in color. I have made a bit of a boo boo and need the make some repairs, (there's no cut a new piece cause it's been glued). Wood filler in this country don't stretch to oak so have to get it from USA... me thinks that Golden Oak might be a fairly good match. Will try attaching a photo of the first clock. ***Merlin*** ps: The attached photo is a large one so might take a couple minutes to load.

  20. I was going to order from WTB but they want $12 shipping but when I ordered from Mike (when he had it) he only charged at most $4.50-$5.00. I only order a small amount cause of import duties. ***Merlin***
  21. Very nice have to go find the elephant don't remember them. An age thing don't remember what it's called now ***Merlin***
  22. Ray I have just brought one here in NZ it's a Toolline brand, and before that I had a Cobra I got back in 2006. The Cobra is made in the Ryobi factory. Have just got the Toolline and not even run it yet, but going on the spec's not a lot of different from the Cobra. So 9 years from the bottom of the line thicknesser is pretty good in my book. And she had a lot of work it that time. So what am I saying "you treat them right and they treat you right" ***Merlin***
  23. Very nice indeed. ***Merlin***
