Girl you are GOOD with a capital G. First box should go on the mantle for a conversation piece when the girls come over for tea and crumpets, lol. Boxes are addicting!Even if you don't have what you need to finish it something will light up and you'll make it better than it was going to be. No worries ,nice job,and thanks for the photo's they tell the whole story for those with no audio on their computer, lol
Don't let that saw rust, lol Show the little woman the scrollsawartist.com site or sheila landry.com She'll have a honey do list for you again, lolKeep in touch and don't miss a day here just to stop, look and see what been going on!
Thanks DAN, A girl drew one very similar but not as many loops as this one so i thought i'd make this for her. Her mom just bought over $400.00 worth of stuff from me.Her house is loaded with my work.It sure puts a smile on my face walking through her home. She entertains allot and loves to show of unique things she aquired!I'm sure she's bought close to 2000 dollars worth of stuff from me in 3 years! YES thank you JESUS!
Hah, got your curiosity, lol !!This is a "the scrollsawartist.com" SUEMEY'S pattern It's in 3/4" 12 ply plywood , cut with a few different scroll reverse blades #9#7 and #3.The wood was oak ply and tough to cut on number 5 on the yellow dw788 speed control. This saw i wore out last year or the year before and bought valvoline synthetic grease and disassembled as much as i could and regreased all the bearings i could get out.Only two i needed a press for so they are the same as before. After the regreaseing you would never know the machine is sloppy and wore out.Anything above 5 on the speed and it would hammar. No more, but I stay 5 or less not to push it.It's doing just fine. My rocking table was as I thought.A lot of saw dust behind the degree wheel.I blew it out and now it's solid and no rocking.
MR. ROB ROY, that's my first box and was a piece of cake to do. The rings went very fast.I'm pleased but it needs better wood of staining or something, lol
Thanks FRANSISCO ! i keep plugging along.I i stay home things get done . If I leave I find way too many things that eat up all my time from coming back to scroll.
Mighty fine skills and patience cutting this difficult piece! You know how to stay out of trouble!Very dramatically bold project .Keep them coming!
Thanks Dan, my mind is going and I have to many things to keep track of with the projects, photos, time, woods, pattern location, blades used, etc. I used to be real good about it 8 years ago for a while.then got sick.Doing better now.
Thanks DAN,My favorite too.I have lots, but it's hard to get to.As I'm feeling better, things will get organized better!I'm fighting rain and sun trying to do it!
Thanks ROB,With no wife and a honey do list i'm free to do what i want.Scrolling is self satisfying.I don't own a television set but lately i've been thinking about dragging out the shortwave radio.that's another enjoyment of mine. But them i need to string up a large antenna so maybe that's out,lol
this is great to see professionally designed project like this from you!Your two piece stand is a first and add much to the piece it's holding.Everything you tackled came out smelling like a rose and i'm proud of you getting back to the thick of it again.I see your wheels have been turning from the rest! great job! Thanks for the photo's of your exhibits.
Thanks BOBBY, You're absolutely right, even in metal, hard is brittle. I have a drill bit that is so hard, if you drop it it shatters to pieces. It cuts thru a broken 3/8 tap like butter and taps are hard. When i sharpen it there is next to no sparks coming off the grinding wheel!
