    Oh how I love the the tips and tricks you learn daily here in the village .I am thrill to hear about the dw788 tips especially as I too own one.I keep looking for a back up 788 as they are the best I ever had.working on one is tedious but can be done .Everything needs to be in just the right spot for it to go back to gether,not for the faint of heart mechanic.Well made but could have been stronger bearing wise and a little loc tight from the factory would save down time for us to.A better grade of aluminum would be a plus factor too. the cheap stuff stripps to easy when tighting screws that are tiny.love mine though purrs like a kitten !

    I try to make a special box on the saw right in my face so I don't forget to square everything an still haven't done it.i use a 2'' square from starrett

    On my dw788 I use it a lot .I notice the tention numbers getting higher and higher .To find out whats happening I hold down on the top arm with no blade in it and lift up and down on the bottom arm.ends up these slop in the main bearing in the bottom assemble I can't get out to change .SO I lubed everything uop with valvline synthetic grease and I 'm in good shape now for months.deon't know what machine you have but .I have a dremil too that I have to cut a 1/2'' off the blade so I can adjust the tention ,That's wore out.this one needs the top arm assemblyand the connecting piece in the back of the machine.hope this helps a little .what machine do you have?
