  2. You have interesting interest Chris.that would be teriffic if you buid a wood burning lazer. That should be a good money maker burning wood designs!Plasma cutters are interesting too. Will these projects be for crafts ?Small detailed project? Not that it has anything to do with this but i found out that all green lasers pop balloons.I'll be watching you progress in ssv as i 'm sure your going to wow us!thanks for joining!
  3. Hi bill,Not knowing where you live ,usa or else where but if you live in the usa "grizzley .com or grizzley tools .com has a nrand new one for a hundard more dollars with a year garantee. My self would get new but dw788's seem to be pretty relable machines .i got mine used and no problems and it's a type 1.Feel around you loose moveing pieces.i have loose piece sright up front but it cut straigh asan arrow and with no noise.im more than happy. The only thing i don't like about it is the stand is too high and changing the light bulb is very difficult.the blade tenstion is the best around in 8saws i've had.good choice is saws!
  4. i like the work you posted in the gallery,Very nice controled cutting skills
  5. Hello Don, Glad you found us.!Say that's some machine you have there!Someday i hope to try one.Your in the right spot to climb the ladder scrolling.I've learned so much and keep on learning here daily.I would'nt miss a day coming here.Your welcome to open up your own gallery to store patterns and your works all in one place!Welcome again.
  6. hi Sue ,i come here often everyday to see what i've missed and what i can learn more. Everyday i learn something!Coming here i've learned to do fretwork puzzles, compound cuttings, intarsia's on and on.this is where i call home!Everybody is super helpful and we'll get you out of a pinch quick your having with scrolling or machine repairs.all honest opinions and we'll never steer you wrong.you have double the years on the scroll saw than me and i'd love to see where you've been and what your doing now.open up your own gallery here to store you works and load up on patterns, Great having you .thursdays is the chat room from 7:00 to ?sign up and get your password ahead of schedule to save time when that day comes. You'll enjoy looking around ssv to see what we have for your benifet scrolling."Wiki" has lots of free stuff in it.!
  7. been quiet around here .I could hear myself think! The lady was extra nice at the store so i felt compeled to make a name for her.She loves burgondy so i did the sky in that color.Looks good in person ,don't know why the photo is lacking maybe weak batterys
  8. My 20" c-arm craftsman had a mind of it's own.speed problems, start up problems and finally runaway full throttle speeds faster than the saw ever went on it's own.I put it down and started useing another craftsman ,18" but the squeeking from none user spots drove me nuts .I'm down to 2 saws now ,the dw788 and a brand new dremil 1830 workstation thats got a squeeking problem too from non accessable points that need to be oiled.I drilled holes in the side where it needs oil but it needs oil to offen for my comfort.
  9. This one makes me proud .I've been wanting one 3 years now .This is great for delicate fret work projects and such.Much lighter than a trim router or a horsepower regular router. It'll even take the battery powered dremil. My hope's of useing it as a tool to speed up cutting out patterns in wood rather than use a scroll saw.It sounds feesable.Problem is noise and the neighbors so timing is needed.I think i could save many hours on a big project with this.Any thoughts?I can't wait to rout some crosses and what have you to spruce them up a notch.
  10. Wish i could turn out work like that.T hese are hot lookin!
  11. Could'nt look better,sweet as a kitten.You do remarkable work!
  12. Things don't happen by chance!Your going to be the proud owner of an excaliber sooner than you think.Congradulations on your choice, your work will really reflect now!You put your time in ,now is the time for change! You'll wonder why you waited so long.I went from 8 chinese saws which i enjoyed and loved but aquired a dw788 and it surpasses all expectations of what a good saw could be.Run and get that new saw!
  13. Yes sir ,our members in ssv do tend to excell in there work.We have some of the best artists ,pattern makers, woodburners, lathe operators, puzzle makers and scroll saw artists etc in the club here.i'm shocked that realfez only got 5 blue ribbons instead of 7.
  14. Thanks Chris,Mike and Jim,now i can make saw dust and shaveings too!
  15. Now that you said that i do remember that there are piece's of furniture that i would like to remove the finish from rather than sand it or remove with paint remover .This will make a snap for doing that,Thanks for reminding me.I would like to make the keychains a lot thinner too. Thanks Messman your on the ball! Two brains are better than one around here!
  16. ryobi planer 13 inch .]Some works been coming in this week and i'm a few dollars ahead .Sure enough somebodys going to take it away from me. i have a sticky friend and he wants a planer so bad.I found this one on craigs list for $200. i found the same one in home depot for $229.I called him up and asked him is it the same one thats selling for 229.00? he called this morning and said if you want it ,you can have it for $100.00.So it's sitting in the house now looking at me like what are you going to do with me now that you had to have me,lolWhat does a scroller need a 13" planer for?Help Help,i might have to give it to my sticky friend for xmas!
  17. This big project makes my mind wander! This is a real jewel of a project! This answers some questions i have on how to fill up dead space in a drame that's already made thats too big for a project. This way of doing things has me spining my wheels and going "tilt"as to what can be done and how.I'm flabergasted at the creativety of realfez here.he shot for the moon and made it!Thank you so much ,this made my day to see this !
  18. Yes indeed Paul , love the look! Anything added sound allways accentuate the pieces scrolled or wood burned and carved .You have me thinking now. Thanks!

  25. hi Edward,I right click on a pattern and chose ,the open link, that makes for a clearer pattern to copy for me.Allso depending where the pattern is ,if it's in ssv then i'll open the pattern up twice,to get the largest pattern to copy.hope this helps, not sure if this is the problem for you.
