  4. Art ,Good info again.I enjoy the easy lift as it put's the arm up and out of the way when you loosen the tention and the blade by it'self. Then i thread the project thru the wood pull down on the arm and hold it with my 4 fingers and push the blade in with my thumb of the same hand and tighten the thumb screw with my right hand. makes it very conveinient .

Hello Chris, welcome to ssv(scrollsawvillage!).I've been here 3 years and can't live a day with out comeing here to see what i've missed. So much to learn and so much fun to have!Everyone helps everyone the best we can. you'll find that you'll get more than 1 answer that works for a question you have on you new hobby.I see your a handyman around the home. The scroll saw will help you spruce it up lot's of ways!Interesting you fix and make instruments. You'll come up with real fancy scroll work to make a one of a kind designs for the face of them.Good choice on the dw788.I 'd like to make a bridge for my banjo and heard you can lower the tone a full octave by doing so!There's so many idea's and free patterns here at your disposal.Open your own user gallery and save what you find for a later date and store photo's, of your work for us to see. click on a user's name in the gallery to see all they have done.I like thin wood as there's less saw dust to deal with but for word art i like 3/4 anything.Of course the harder the wood the longer it'll take to cut.Reverse blades leave a clean edge top and bottom on your work so there's less sanding.Check out all you can here on all pages to see the ton of stuff thats available to you.Got questions just ask ! Welcome my friend!
  13. This is the color i'm looking for ,for the dollar bill puzzle box thanks .Your box is real good looking! nice job!dw!
  14. Hi jim ,boy thats some video presentation you produced. Was connie the camera person.wow you sure are a perfectionest with that ol craftsman.I'm amazed at the work you turn out with it.Look on craigs list and upgrade.Reaching back to adjust tention for the blade is passe and an allen wrench to tighten the blade just takes the fun of scrolling away.Id'll wear you out. It all reminded me of the days when i did the same, but i had fun!I traded my intarsia's for a dw788 from craigs list.recently.He'd rather use a ryobe ? go figure.!Hey you need to buy a snow shovel to shovel up all that extra saw dust you have in big piles around your shop! Your really knockin out some projects lately.I been waiting for your movies of comeing attractions! The woodburning one's are so relaxing to watch.Your moves withthe iron are very fluild,a master at what you do!Very nice chess pieces! You make it all look so easy!Great job!
  15. yep i checked it out allright ,what a sight!everything is pristine, much better than new.everything is custom,no two alike. i tryed odifying effel tower as there were no ral patterns to work from.I can't even begin to fathom what all you encounter customizeing the chandelier, and make it all come together.the site of looking at this monster makes me shake my head in unbelief at the workmanship of william and in his busted up condition too.Must be something drinking 6 pot of coffee a day.It must excite every brain cell to do what he's got to do to make this chandelier come about.everything on your web site has been finely honed to perfection.W hat amazing talant
  16. Quality cutting job Edward,Best around.I have'nt seen one of these around in a while.your real good on these cars!Because of the wide grain wood you used it all most looks like a woody, lol.
  17. God bless you Glenn,I just got a dw788 too and for a xmas present the wife left me so i have to walk away and leave evrything .I'm looking for new doors for him to open for me too.
  18. Hold on Hold on, a station wagon just pulled up with a few more votes for Marshall and kevin!
  19. Hu'um,i think Brian and Mike are correct. It's like painting the bumper's on your car.But an artist ,even a scroll saw artist is allowed to make that decision.I fall in the same catogory,I'll paint it.All my doors have cats with mice and dogs on them ,and they ALL are painted! oop's i let the cat out of the bag!My reasoning is they stand out better as silouettes, touche! :)Marshall the score is 2 to 2 i'm with you buddy

  25. i have bags of blades ,some say top some say bottom ,but they are all fd mikes blades. The bag will tell you if it needs to be a certain way if not then it doe'nt matter .i know that the reverse teeth are on the bottom part of the blade so you could check that also.
