  1. I think it is so cute. Yes the Winfield collection has this plan. I saw it there last night when I was looking for the tooth shaped tooth pick holder I was planning to make for the dentist who took care of my tooth. In fact I was going to make one for all the staff. I ordered it but when I went to check out, it didn't check out at all. Grrr...I'm a pretty good artist so I can draw one out. I have ordered a couple of plans from them and one I don't think is a scroll saw pattern, but going to try it on the saw. The other one I can cut it on the saw. Have a great day Fay
  2. Great job on the fretwork. It can be fretwork or a portrait if it is of a person. . I'm working on a John Wayne portrait now and will give it to Sis as she loves John Wayne. She watches every movie he has ever made. Take care. I can remember the very first time I did the fretwork I was one happy camper. Fay
  3. I packed up my Dremel Moto saw when I got the Big Yellow. Nice to have a back up saw as I still have the fox as a back up once he gets fixed. Have a great day and a good idea about that piano bench for sliding from one saw to the next. Take care Fay
  4. Wow! That sounds a bit scary for me. I won't even run the saw when I'm tired and not feeling good. I have fallen asleep at the computer a time or two, but not at the saw. I stand when I scroll so if I get tired, I will turn off the saw and go sit down for awhile or continue what I was sawing the next day. I haven't worked much on the saw the last couple of days because of severe tooth problems. but maybe it'll be better after Thursday and then back at the saw. I may go home for a few days this weekend. Take care Fay
  5. finished my moose this afternoon, It is make of scrap wood and not to o bad of a moose. I think he's so cute and there he is bowing to the mouse in the first photo... Yep made the mose too out of scrap ply wood. Enjoy Fay
  6. All I have to do now is to put in the eyes and put the finish on my moose so it'll be done when I feel better. No sleep last night either. I have been in bed all day today too. We had snow and rain yesterday and today pouring rain so a bit too chilly to work in the shop. So just will rest for a spell. Have a great day Fay
  7. Or maybe you can find a place like the Joann fabric store and get some thing there or get some black velvet fabric and adhere it to the backer board. There must be some picture framing places around that would have some thing for a backer. Good luck.. Fay
  8. Moose is put together but need to put in the eyes. I might just use a couple of little shiny beads for the eyes. Going to go lie down for awhile now.. Have a great day Fay
  9. I'm going to work a little bit on my moose today. I can finish gluing up the front and back legs and if I feel ok I will finish cutting the ears and tail and such. So far moose is looking good. I do feel a little better, but the pain in my tooth is still there but at least I might be able to scroll a little bit. I didn't sleep good last night at all. Every one have a great day Fay
  10. Awww shuckins,,, When he isn't looking,, just move his stuff out of the room and put yours in...I first thought you were going to say he set up the stand for you... shoot, Black Betty deserves an honored place for your use. Enjoy Fay
  11. Well we went to Home Depot today and I got some wood that I can recut the antlers with so it should look great. WE are all ill over here so will not run the scroll saw until I feel better. Sis has a bit of a stomach ache too and Mom is not feeling good either and I'm going ot lie down and I left my wood in the trunk until tomorrow. Maybe I will feel better then. Have a great day Fay
  12. I have my moose cut out too but just the tail and the ears and eye brows and then I can put some kind of a finish on him and it should look good. There are a few of the antler parts that snapped off, but they won't be that noticeable. The wood I used was a piece of wood that Ward used on his lathe when he had one. It was hard to cut. Will be making another one once I get more wood. I'm using up some scraps for the time being. Have a great day Fay Oh your moose turned out great! I like the wood grain on yours. Amazing how well some thing can turn out nice from a wood that might not look good at all until it is finished.
  13. Beautiful saw! How heavy was it to unpack? Mine was about 60 pounds. The scroll table seemed to weigh more than the rest of the saw but I got it up on the bench with no problems at all. Enjoy your new toy.. Have a great day Fay Oh on the Seyco site they have those saws in black. I thought your would be green too as most of those saws I've seen are green.
  14. It's Friday and after 5 P.M over here,,, Is it there,, is it there yet??????? Common, I wanna see it... Enjoy when it does get there... Fay
  15. I had to attach the table to Big Yellow. I was wondering if you had to for this new saw. My tooth is better this a.m. but I sure did take a lot of ibuprofen for it the last couple of days. I'll be glad when Thursday gets here so I can get it taken care of. I'm going to the shop to finish cutting out the moose. I have to finish gluing up my mouse and then make a cat to go with it. Hope your saw gets there so you can get it all set up and enjoy it. Have a great day Fay
  16. Is it Friday yet??? Don't know.. slept most of the day as the pain meds don't help much but early this a.m. I did get a little bit of scrolling done. Had to come back in and lie down for awhile. I'm up now but it is getting a little dark so won't go down to the shop. Will be watching for a post about the new saw getting there... Have a great day Fay
  17. I know exactly how you feel... when my Big Yellow got here I was so happy because it got here early in the day and I was so pleased. It was delivered via Fed Ex and Sis had gone home for a few days and about a half hour after that I hear a noise and looked out the family room window and there was that big yellow box! I got t he dolly out there and I had to walk the box over the threshold in the doorway, but after that got the saw in the shop and started snapping pictures as I got him set up. The little scroll man was the first project I made on my saw and the woodpecker fretwork was the second thing I finished on it. I started that with the Shop Fox before he conked out. Hope you sleep good tonight and then you can enjoy getting the new saw set up.... Have a great day Fay
  18. When you get to the site scroll down to the bottom and click on tools and then scroll down a little bit until you see the little scroll man. When I look at his, it look naked so that's why I painted mine. I painted the pieces, then glued him up and then used some spray shellac on him. I'm working on a mouse and will make a cat to go along with the mouse. Have a great day Fay
  19. Try this link for the scroller man Well shoot,, I will have to go to the site to get it. I can't paste it here so will try it again.... Fay
  20. Wow! Congrats on the new saw! You must test it out by making a project.. even a small on if it is too cold to go in the shop. Tears down the legs???? I away say.,,, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining....Hahahahaha!!! It's so nice to get a new saw as I'm enjoying Big Yellow,, you'll enjoy your new saw just as well. Come on Friday,, get here! I ordered a foot switch for my saw and it should get here today. Have a great day every one Fay
  21. Thank you every one. I have my little scroll man sitting here on the desk for now. I might go ahead and add those cute little features to it later today. My tooth is hurting big time so I don't feel like being in the shop for very long. A tooth ache can sure mess things up for you for sure. Every one have a great day Fay
  22. Great ideas, I should put a tiny piece of wood on the scroll table and a few little pieces of wood on the table where the saw is sitting. little bit of sawdust around it and on the man's clothing. Have a great night and thanks for all the ideas... Fay I may just keep it in the shop for a spell.
  23. I have been looking for this pattern to no luck in finding it. Some one said it was a Steve Good pattern but never found it on his site. I'm working on a mouse and a cat but never found the moose. It looks great. Good idea on the business cards on the antlers. I like that. Fay
  24. I think I know what happened. I had trouble posting this a.m. and so there are several posts on this same topic as I kept hitting the post thing and it would not go through. In the one with the picture, there are 9 replies and it is further down on the list. so the picture did not get posted on this one. Sorry about that. Look at the thread that has 9 replies to it and the picture should be there. Fay
  25. Going to look at other colors, maybe even some colors of woodpeckers to see the colors are on the bird and see if I can tape together some color paper to see how it would look. I might decide to use some resin to make it like a stained glass thing. Have a great day Fay
