  1. Just got this done this a.m. Hope you all like it. Had fun making these little boxes. Enjoy! Fay
  2. You can copy the link and then paste it to your browser and then hit enter and it 'll take you to the site. I tried it and it worked for me. I'll have to give the basket a try one of these days. Good luck with yours.. Fay
  3. This would be great to make for a waiting room at a Dr's office or a library and a child would have a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the giraffe. Great job, looking forward to see it painted. Fay
  4. I'll be able t o post the bee box tomorrow some time. It will dry over night as I just put another coat of finish on it. Thanks for all the nice compliments, Fay
  5. I've got this box finished but made it a little different than what was in a mag. I shaped the head a little bit different and then glued some crystal eyes on it and it turned out real nice. I have a bee box done too but waiting for that to dry. Here is a picture or two of the lady bug.. Enjoy Fay
  6. That is beautiful and looks easy to cut. It looks great and it would make a great wall plaque.. Fay
  7. Thank you every one. I was going to take apart the shelving unit and make bowls out of the pieces but then decided I needed it for tools and other things that I use a lot. Yessss my shop still needs a lot of work but it is nice and big enough to move around in. I still some times can't find some thing and it is usually laying right under my nose. So I'm trying to keep every thing organized and in it's place. Have a great day Fay
  8. First is the shop shelf thing I bought for $2.00 I took that apart and refinished it and now it is in use with some things like masks and other things on it plus some of my Dremel things and chuck keys on it, Next is a bracket that I made for the shelf I made a long time ago for my drum sanders for my Guinemvere sanding system. The bracket is for the pump and now there is a place for every thing. I keep the sleeves in the bowl sitting near by. Next is a letter opener and some napkin rings I made out of scrap wood. I used a forstner bit to drill the hole and traced a shape and voila napkin rings. I was blown away when I finally used my mac mop thing and it gave the letter opener and napkin rings such a nice smooth finish and now I wish I had that long time ago when I was doing some intarsia. Will have to try that again some time. Enjoy the pictures Fay
  9. So happy you got it. I didn't order a stand for mine as I like to stand when I scroll. Mine is on the bench and that is nice and sturdy and the saw table comes about chest high and that is perfect for me. Never tried sitting and scrolling. It is amazing how much larger it is compared to the saw I used to use, but the Shop Fox can be fixed and then I would have a back up but don't know when I'll get that done yet. I need to get my drill press fixed so I can use the bevel and that bolt is in there so tight it stinks. I may one day get a better one any way so I might as well use it the way it is. I have used my forstner bits on it and those work really well especially when I need a large hole for things like bird houses and such. Enjoy your new Big Yellow saw and make lots of sawdust... Fay
  10. Well did the saw ever come yet????? Hope you are enjoying it Fay
  11. I made out of some pieces of scrap wood I had laying around. Had fun making it too. The top and the bottom are ply wood I had and the walls are a 2 by 4 and it was hard to cut but the Big Yellow did a great job on that. I had just enough pine to make the celtic knot and then I put a dark walnut finish on that and then later some wax polish stuff that I had and it came out with a nice sheen on it. The pattern is in a book called Fun and Easy Projects, but I forget who the author is. I found it on Amazon. Later I might try some thing else out of some pieces that are too small to make boxes out of. Enjoy the pictures,, Fay
  12. You could use a mini drill chuck in a drill press I was thinking. But then it might be too hard on that tiny drill bit so I say go for the plunge and buy the router attachment for the Dremel if you have one. I think they fit most of the Dremel rotary tools. How ever I do like the mini drill thing from Seyco but that are too pricey so I wished I hadn't spent that money but it is too late now so will use it. Tho it is a nice little tool. Fay
  13. I have the Seyco mini drill thing and it works great and I also have the Drememl router attachment too. I think that would be a great way to go and I think I paid some thing like $29.95 or $30.00 for it and I also have the work station for the Dremel tool but it doesn't reach larger areas. So I think the Dremel router attachment will work better for you. I never thought to use my router attachment for drilling those entry holes. Now I wished I hadn't spent the money on the Seyco. But I keep it near the scroll saw for drilling one or two entry holes. Good luck.
  14. Yes there is some wood burning on the sides. I drew those on and then used my wood burner to outline and such and I thought it looked pretty good Sis loves it. Fay
  15. I've had mine since Mid February and just love it! First when you open the box there will be a warning label that says not to pick up the saw by the arm. so left it out by the base and get another person to help as it is a heavy saw. Once you have it where you want it, then you will find the table in the bottom of the box and you attach that and then you can put in a blade and start sawing. I don't know how I did it but I got mine out of the box and put together by myself. You will find the table and the saw itself is larger than the Ryobi saw that you have. So that will take a little bit of getting used to. Enjoy your new saw and ready the manual and such. Congrats on the new big yellow saw. I just love, love, love mine! Fay
  16. I also like Butter Pecan and licorice ice cream. We used to be able to get the licorice ( black ice cream ) here in Sequim but that place has closed and now we can't get it any more. I remember it also in the soda fountain place we used to go to, to play the juke boxes and such. Back in the 50's Those were the fun days... Fay
  17. I've got my box done and it was from a pattern that is in Carole Rothman's book wooden boxes. First I did not have the right size forstenr bit the make the 2" hole on the base so there is a small hole and there is a ring in there. Then I decided to make the inside of the ice cream a compartment too and one of my favorite turquoise rings in there. Enjoy the pictures and yes it does look enough to eat. Fay
  18. They will be so tickled to get these. They are so cute and I bet they will treasure them for life. Great job on them all. Fay
  19. Yes,, all I had to do was put some fabric on the back and then put itin a frame and that was about it. I still need to locate those glacier points so I can tack it in so it won't fall out. I didn't do all the cutting and such while waiting for other things to dry, Just getting the portrait in the frame and making a back but the back was too small and too thick so it would not work out so there is lays on the table until I get that part done.
  20. I got this done this a.m. while waiting on other things to dry. I just need to locate those Glacier points that I put away and then I can fasten it in so it won't fall out. I wish the frame was deeper as I wanted to put it behind glass, but then maybe some time in the near future I can find one in a thrift store. I put this frame together and then it fell apart one time so tried it again and it fell apart again and now I have it together. I used corner braces on the corners of the back of the frame. So far so good. Enjoy Fay
  21. Glad you found one for your son. He'll love it as I love mine. Once in a while when I go to order some thing say like Amazon they will say how many are in stock and then more coming. I've seen this happen a lot lately but not just with scroll saws but other items not related to tools. Makes me wonder some times. Have a great day Fay
  22. I've had mine since mid February and love it. It is almost half paid for now and I just bought a drill press and am having a problem or two but I think that can be fixed. Any way,, just love my big yellow saw too. Tell your son to enjoy that new saw. He'll love it. Fay
  23. I would get a regular foot switch that you can plug the saw right into it. I love mine and have my DW 788 plugged into it and then I don't have to use the on / off switch on the saw as I heard that can wear out quickly. Fay
  24. I know exactly how you feel Nick. Mt Shop Fox conked out after having it for about 6 months, but it can be fixed and used as a back up. I now have the Big Yellow Dewalt 788 and love it! Got it about the middle of February and it is still going strong. I hope my saw will last for a long , long time before I'll have to do things like change the motor brushes and all that stuff. So I know how it is getting a new saw. Enjoy your new saw Fay
  25. Woke up April Fools day and found my bra had 3 cups on it instead of 2......Hahahahaha!
