  1. Crupiea - Scroll up and reread the post from "teachnlearn". For 20 bucks he would send you 2 nails & a piece of string. WAIT and he will probably double the offer. You just pay separate S&H. jerry
  2. Try this: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/ix01.html (Don't know why, but you will need to Copy/Paste the link). Scroll to ellipse. jerry
  3. Will this help? (Inkscape). https://www.google.com/search?ei=0ue0XameAcO-tQWexoyIBw&q=inkscape+make+an+ellipse&oq=inkscape+make+an+ellipse&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i30.90867.98753..102318...0.2..0.118.1510.12j4......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71j0i7i30j0i5i30j0.RxW0clIS0hE&ved=0ahUKEwipz7GymrvlAhVDX60KHR4jA3EQ4dUDCAo&uact=5#kpvalbx=_Oei0XY20KZKesQXM3rEQ27 jerry
  4. Kevin.  If you want a particular verse made into a pattern, just holler.  I have a long Iowa winter ahead with nothing to do.  Please feel free to request anything with text.

  5. Welcome to the addiction Young Lady. Enjoy, you are already hooked & off to a great start. jerry
  6. I retired from sawing a few months ago. Always liked 1/4" oak. Saved a LOT of grief by only gluing together 1 1/2" wide pieces. Clamp as usual, but put wax paper & board(s) above & below and clamping the h____ out of them. Cure overnight and sand the glue off of both sides. Sure made life a lot easier. jerry
  7. You poor soul. Now you are addicted big time! (Great job for a first piece). jerry
  8. I bought a cheapie from Menards years ago. The fence bowed when it was cast. If I lay a straight edge all the way across the front, the 2 halves don't line up. Adjusted the left half square with the blade. Works fine, since I only saw short pieces. i.e. Crucifix pieces. If you buy one in a store, take a square & check it. jerry
  9. My Delta is basically the same machine, different color. The connecting rod is connected to the motor shaft on one end & a rocker arm on the other. The bolt broke in the rocker arm. It split in the middle of the sleeve & wasn't visible until I took it out. If you have it out, take the bolt to any hardware store and replace it with stainless steel, which is much harder. Stupid design error. That one bolt carries the full load of the machine. Replaced it years ago & that cured mine. When you Dewalt owners have yours apart, replace your bolt also. jerry
  10. My home made wood stand sets on concrete. Put 1" foam between the saw & base. That was quit an improvement. jerry
  11. You had an offer from "New2wdrk" that his wife in Florida, "would help".  Run away!  She would just throw a dart to someone she knows nothing about.  Would collect a referral  if you bought.

We had a guy build a house for us in Marshallown, IA.  Honest as the day is long.  10 years ago they had a property in Missouri that wasn't selling.  He is retired & unlisted in the book.  Just talked to his brother.  They will contact him.

    It's really a long shot.

After tossing this house, we started reconsidering our options. We discovered that MO taxes  disability income. My wife and I are disabled vets, so our income would both be taxes in MO. The state we live in SD has no state taxes, but the VA hospital is more of a clinic that can't handle much. So we are wondering where to go.

Thanks so much for the warning. Goes no further then my head which leaks on the floor.

Renting a basement? Richard Friese RJF 😙

  12. Whenever you do put it back together, always remember that a good mechanic has a few parts left over. jerry
  13. Found the picture of the one I cut.
  14. Jerry sees perfection. Thanks for sharing a great job of cuttin.
  15. We were there years ago on a bus tour. Every American, Veteran or civilian should be required to go there & see the magnitude of the Arlington Cemetery. We were told that there are more Civil War Veterans there than from all our other wars combined, because both sides were buried there. I cut that piece for a fellow Veteran years ago. Instead of the emblem below the eagle's head, I put his 1st name. I thought it was a Steve Good pattern at the time, but cannot find it now. jerry
  16. You must live a good clean life. Glad you are OK. jerry
  17. Heck, I don't look or act my age either. Never did become a responsible adult.
  18. On Sept.4th he posted this on Facebook. jerry
  19. I also have a magnifying light. Couldn't find a location for it to focus that wasn't in the way for blade changes. Use it as an expensive light mounted just above the saw. Wear a headband magnifier over a welders cap. Just the headband without the cap was uncomfortable. Like that it is portable & always use it for drilling. jerry
  20. Thank You for not posting the bad language that you used. jerry
  21. Your point is well taken. jerry
  22. Trackman; To my eye, you posted a picture of the pattern. Resize as desired, make copies & start sawing. jerry
  23. I have always bought BB ply from Sloan's, 12" X 24". Make a lot of crucifixes "about 18" tall, so I end up searching for ways to use the scrap. For fretwork, I buy "Good Both Sides" so that I have 2 side to choose from. Noticed that D&D stocks 12" X 36", which would be ideal. Do any of you buy ply from them, and if so, what are your thoughts on quality/blemishes? (I am a real fussy son-of-a-gun). jerry
  24. I can't begin to Thank all of you for sharing your wisdom. Awesome bunch of helpers. (Possibly against my better judgement), I will order Pegas MG 5s, although I thought long about the posting from Don In Brooklin, "The blade you get used to is your best blade". I won't get at trying them for a week or more. Thanks again everyone !! jerry
  25. I only use FDUR #5 & 3s. Starting to run low on #5s. Some of you have been singing praises of Pegas blades. Questions for those of you that switched; 1. What Pegas blade do you consider comparable to the FDUR #5? 2. Which do you prefer & why? 3. Where do you like to buy your Pegas blades from? Thanks in advance. jerry
